Basso looked the least tired of all favorites today with the exception of FS. Just wish he had a little bit more of a kick to shed others off his wheel instead of pacing others up the climb

he will be even better in the third week, however I am still concerned about his time trial ability, unless he can pull at least 1 30 against other bid rivals like evans and contador

after today is 100% clear to me basso's shape will only improve. let's hope he doesn't ride like a coward though he just needs to ride a steady blistering pace and not look back

He showed today he won't. Especially now that he saw Andy Schleck wasn't better than him.

I'm putting my support in the polkadot and green jersey now :p

As for GC. I want Samu to win if Contador can't. No one else I like. Though the only reason I don't want Frank to win is because of his brother.

So where does Basso make his move if he's got a shot in contending for the win? I figure he's got stage 14, the Galibier, and the Alpe. Are any of these climbs hard enough for him to use his high tempo pace to drive the others off his wheel? Wish he had a kick to create a gap cause I don't see any of the other contenders setting a harder pace up the climbs

Basso has been sitting quietly for the whoel tour, it didn't surprise me of how well he went.

I was thinking the same thing this whole tour. He's just been building form and looks terrific.

+1

I am hoping he'll take that advise because he looks incredible. He'll podium for sure, but will he take the highest step? :)
