It probably won't look quite so high when one of the tips is at 11 o'clock. Still, I wonder what the FD shifting is like on a ring like that.

Its got to be very easy to throw the chain off. If you upchange when the flat part of the ring is going past or down change as you swing past the point.

The other thing is imagine the load going throw the ring and the chain as you pass through the "tip" section when really pushing hard out of the saddle.

Great photo! That belongs in the classic racing photos thread if not already there. Was that because a protest blocked the peloton?

You have to love Le Blaireau, he looks like Darcy Tucker in that shot.
