Sinkeldam's "kill me now" smile is quite telling.

Really how do you give Dumoulin such an amazing skinsuit and then come up with this for the other one?

Confirmed by Sunweb that they will rape the Dutch national jersey and turn it into a Movistar monstrosity. They think its "professional" and "going with the times".

But, im withholding setting their HQ on fire before I see the final product.

Here it is

The fake smile, the fake thumbs up, the fake national champion jersey...
:(

This is the worst *** I've ever seen (and yes I'm familiar with Kreuziger's Orica jersey and Movistar's spanish jerseys). How can you destroy something so simple as the dutch national jersey, which is one of the most easy to make, beautiful and easily distinguishable NCh jersey?

At least they put the lion. If not, someone could say that Sinkeldam was british.

Actually I don't like that lion at all. Just don't.....

Me neither, but at least we can see that belongs to the dutch champion. Without the lion, it could be Cummings jersey.

That is by far NOT the worst jersey I've seen. I think you're all exaggerating. Far from being a monstrosity.

It's the first time the dutch champion isn't wearing an 'all dutch flag' jersey in cycling, thus it's awful.

Personally I think every national champion should wear an all national flag jersey in any team.

Strangely enough the more and more I watch cycling (almost 15 years now) I prefer clear national jerseys less and less. I'd rather everyone just wore their team jersey or a very understated national jersey. Only exception being the rainbow jersey.

I think a lot of it is down to how some of the national races are raced and organised. For instance when the french selectors make a pan flat course and Demare brings a 20 man FDJ lead out I don't know what to say about that. Movistar just pass the jersey around to whoever wants it, it doesn't feel very prestigious at all. J.Sagan gets in a break of people from another country and beats the next rider by 9 minutes which was his brother. Not to mention some of the best riders in the world (particularly the GT specialists) don't even turn up like Contador & Froome.

So yea I actually like Sinkeldam's jersey.

But it's so easy to make a perfect Dutch jersey. Just... take the flag and turn it into a jersey.
Doesn't this apply to most national jerseys?

The Irish one with the shamrock was kinda cool tbh.

Many flags would look terrible as a piece of clothing. It mostly only works for tricolours and simple cross design flags.

Aside from aesthetic issues, turning the national flag into clothes would be seen as disrespectful in some countries and crassly nationalistic in some others. Some countries have a tradition across sports of using a particular design or emblem other than a national flag. And in some cases, like Ireland, the national champion represents an area that has more than one national flag.

National champions jerseys should be visible and highly recognisable. Aside from that I'm largely indifferent to whether or not they are traditional. Champion Systems a few years ago had a bunch of very good non-traditional national champions jerseys.

Some flags have details which would make it look weird when the dimensions are changed to fit a human body, but can't really be left out.
Nepal would be virtually impossible.

How can you possibly *** up a the jersey of a flag that's horizontal stripes. And then giving the TT champion a full skinsuit. What the ***.

Well, Sunweb weren't the first and won't be the last to do so with the national champ jersey.
Here comes 2017 Polish RR NC, Adrian Kurek (yes, CCC did it again):

Pretty sure because they can't afford to piss off Dumoulin

CCC claim that it's only temporary, and for the Tour de Pologne Kurek will have a full shirt.
Thanks, didn't know that. Personally, I think that this current design is quite OKayish, at least they show some consistency in designing the NC jerseys. But a full white NC jersey would be very welcome, especially that CCC should have an idea on how it would look like, as they have already placed their logo on the jersey awarded to Kurek on the podium:

I see. Well, I'll take a dutchman's word for it. :)

You know how to judge your tradition better than I.
