Ha ha, you try to tangle with Tornado Tom...you go down. :D

Personally 3 of the listed had pretty amazing seasons, bonnen turned it on again and became unstoppable in the early season, wiggins did everything as he planned no one beat him when he tried to win and J.Rodriguez was one bad day away from grand tours wins.

It's hard to find a season of Merckx that was worse, so that's already 6-7 seasons. Couple of seasons from Freddy Maertens. Couple of seasons from Anquetil, Indurain, Coppi, Bartali, Stephen Roche, Hinault, etc

Merckx and Roche had arguably the best seasons, in the years they won Giro, TDF and WC, even though riders like Indurain/ others won TDF/ Giro or the Vuelta as well, but the WC just adds even more prestige.

Wiggins has won the Vélo d'Or. Voeckler won the award for best French rider.

Eh, we already knew Wiggo would win Velo d'Or, that's what happens when you win the French races.

J.Rod because he raced most of the year and kept his name relevant in more than one race and for the length of more than one race. Anyone winning one race or one big race does not deserve to be on there.

Sorry guys and girls, and VeloNews, you didn't get the memo. This isn't about women, and you are all ignorant, donks, idiots, lacking in intelligence, clueless, lying or trolling (or all of the above) for not realising that women are not allowed in this thread. It was quite clearly, categorically stated in the original post in the thread that this thread was for men only. Well, it wasn't, but women are only allowed to be mentioned when you are given express permission to do so. By edict of the thread starter.

for ****'s sake.. not bloody vos again.

people ommit her from the bloody polls because they are not meticulous, fussy, ignorant donks. fact.

Miburo said:
It was aimed at men cycling, forget to add that but i thought it was obvious, don't get the fuss.

I'm sure all of you know where this was aimed at. Oh well.

woodenswan said:
it's not about either of those. it's about intelligence i'd say.
people omit her because they realize that 99% of the posts here are related to male athletes so it seems redundant to actually mention this every time. true, this is not completely unambiguous, most people are still capable of understanding this concept. and most likely, you understand it as well, still you make sure to pop in every single time there's a similar discussion, make a fuss, and bait people into these pointless debates.
comparing her achievemants to male cyclists could be interesting, but repeatedly posting about her when it's clear to every able-minded member that the discussion is about something else is nothing but trolling

Miburo said:
Or were you clueless it was about men? Don't give me that ****.

Miburo said:
Nah you were obviously trolling, you really thought I meant women cycling aswell?

Feel free to inform VeloNews of their mistake and resume your bickering about whether Purito's year was better than Wiggins'. But don't mention Vos again, comprendez?

Maybe this thread should be named "international man of.the year 2012"
