I think your questions is what the best way riding on wet or loose surfaces? you wanna a better break system? what kind of tire you are using?

Climbing on wet or loose surfaces, what do people here rate as the best way to boost traction?

For technical climbing, o be honest, fitness. Everything falls out of that. When you start to tire your line wavers, a couple of bad or sub-optimal choices, and you're out. Second is technique.

Good rubber helps a lot. Dig into tire reviews.

Two ways mountain tires attain traction: friction and mechanical keying.

Increase mechanical keying by using tires with more aggressive tread or lowering pressure to increase footprint.

Increase friction by using a tire with a stickier tread compound. Since frictional force is dependent only on the coefficient of friction, increasing the tire footprint alone will not increase the friction effect on smooth surfaces.

This only works if the 'more aggressive tread' can penetrate the surface. On hard pack dirt, rocks, and roots, a more aggressive tread often reduces traction, and can cause a 'squirmy' ride due to knob flex.

The best way to add traction is a program for massive weight gain.. the program can include a variety of cheeses, bread and crackers with the cheese.. also cheesecake and other baked goods never exclude sticky buns w nuts on top.
. also pizza is a great source of traction.. pizza w artichoke hearts will keep both wheels firmly on the ground.. also a variety of meats and meatballs will ensure a gravity smash that will keep the tires with maximum pressure pushing downwards..
there is no reason to stray from the diet plan I have prescribed.. but for variety you can add lasagna and different goolash and stroganoff recipes for the added pounds of pressure.. ensure all dishes are prepared with butter and cream and large portions of noodles or potatoes for the desired effect.
. finally if the bike tire and frame downward pressure effect is not happening at the rate you need for success..add gyros, tacos and beer..
lots of beer..* do not drink any light beer of any kind* drink only craft beer
..San Diego is one of the top locations to take part in this downward bike pressure program.. Pizza Port..Rouleur Brewery have many effective weight enhancement drinks.. also there is an establishment in Pacific Beach that deserves special attention for this project.. Barrel Republic.. you present a credit card, they give you a wrist band w an RF id and it's self service on the beer w dozens of taps of quality beers of a huge variety.. I would stay away from frozen yogurt because it may have bad effects.. just saying.
