“My dear @ tinkoff_saxo fans. Tomorrow @ 1900 CET Will Our Official Press Release Regarding the Best Sport Director.Wish Tomorrow # gentwevelgem” the tweet reads.

BSD, lol looks like Riis is going to stay after all. But I think Giro might be his last straw. And Riis and Contadar probably will say goodbye to the the cycling together after the Giro.

Tinkoff is a clown but I can't feel bad for Riis, if this is indeed his time (we shall see later tonight) then it was a long time coming. But Riis is a survival artist, by the end of the year Tinkoff will be gone, Riis will take control of the team again and sign Quintana :D

Tinkov may be a vodka clown, but he certainly has some business clue. That's how he got rich with Tinkoff brewery , restaurants and credit systems.

Riis is nothing but a goof & cheater!

And Tinkov is a sexist, bigoted idiot.

You could just say that he is obtuse and lacks any social skills, and you'd be covering all his notable defects.

Or I could keep it at sexist and bigoted and I'd be spot on.

Tinkoff reminds me of the rich blowhards who occasionally acquire NFL teams here in the US. They are successful at some other form of business (oil, stock manipulation, high interest loans to the poor, etc.) then attempt to apply such heavy handed tactics to their now toy. The results are predictably terrible. Instead of hiring professionals to coach and direct the teams in a hands off approach they meddle directly and impulsively, which alienates everyone and ensures that there can be no team spirit. Demanding immediate results simply doesn't work in sport!

I expect Bjarne to be fired, with Tinkov himself taking on the triple role of owner-manager-GC rider. Contador and Sagan relegated to domestiques.

They are just rubbing it in now

I would be very surprised to see Contador stay with the team for next season, when Riis is not there - his professionalism does not really gel well with the antics of the vodka clown.

It will also be interesting to see how Saxo Bank reacts, if they pull their sponsorship or stick it out.... they are a very conservative company, targeting high end investors, which is probably problematic with the vodka clown dragging their brand down almost daily in social media.

I think Tinkov is the most hated person in cycling right now.

Really hope Saxo Bank and Riis make a new danish cycling team, with another Co-sponsor. Maybe with Alonso?

I read a Danish article a few days ago. Some journalist for biciciclismo said he would be surprised if Contador did not try to get out of the team.

http://www.bt.dk/cykling/uden-bjarne-er ... s-tinkoff-

He says Tinkov's condescending and rude attitude is so not Alberto.

Saxo Bank owner Lars Seier just made a statement that he intents to continue the sponsorship for the rest of the season. But he also make it clear, that it is Bjarne Riis that is one of the biggest factors for the sponsorship.

That's not a definitive pulling out sadly.

Poor Alberto. I can't see him happy to hang about after this. I reckon he'll do what he can this season, and basically do what he can to remove himself from Tinkoff's orbit as fast as he can after that. He never has an easy ride of it, does he?

I think Saxo's statement is a pretty clear warning shot across the bow. If AC goes, Bjaerne gone, there's got to be a damn good reason for them to keep going beyond 2015.

I don't think they can pull out during the season, but they sure as hell aren't continuing after this season.

Damn, we should have had a poll on whether Riis would be fired or brought back.

Lucky for Riis that Cult Energy is already there ready to be brought up to WT level if he wants to continue in the sport.

Yeah, he also wouldn't have to use all his time finding af co-sponsor for Saxo-Bank every year.

Team Saxo-Cult WT status next year. With riders like Contador, Fuglsang and other Tinkoff-Saxo guys?
