Next move Oleg buys Froome and makes Contador his super dom.

add Nairito as 2nd dom (and as a backup for Vuelta if Vroomie loses too much weight to stay up on bike and can't do the triple) - so the competition is (using the favourite method of generalissimus Tin) SUSPENDED

So Majka is defending his employer. We can expect Majka going full *** and deliver the goods very soon just to please his boss.

well i will hope so. Because he was very poor at PN. He will do the tour, so he can afford to peak march and april. So his form at PN was disappointing. He wasn't even a contender. And so far he went backward after Oman. So he gotta show it now. Contador is having cold and both majka/contador lost 2.40 from 3 good climbers, with mountain that's not too hard, maybe stage win will be doable. Winning GC will be priceless.

Well pretty much everyone lost 2.4 mins?
But I feel Majka was not happy with what happened last year with him being forced to ride the Tour, even though it ended up quite well for him. So he might be happy Riis is out, but lets see once Tinkov starts having a go at him. But at the same time he does have a point, it is about winning, but again you cant expect Contador to win every race he starts, and Sagan has been close a few times and he still needs to learn to ride with his teammates.

Majka riding the Tour was best thing that has happened to him in his short career. It was later stated that it was always in Riis's plan to have Majka ride the Tour. The results of his Tour decision put him on an entirely different level than where he was at the end of the Giro. If he was still unhappy about having to ride the Tour after it was over, then he is certainly a strange fellow. That stretch of racing showed that he is capable of maintaining a very high level of competitive form for long period of time. Yes he was tired after Tour of Poland but isn't that what they get paid to do, race?

"One is still repeatedly, gleefully retold by members of Saxo Bank’s 2010 Tour de Suisse team: of a rider dropping back to the team car for instructions midway through one key stage, only to find that Riis’s ears were plugged with headphones, and his eyes were glued to his laptop. Spooling across the screen were not live pictures of the race but scenes from the hit American drama, The West Wing."

I want to watch TV all day and get paid 1million Euro per year. Haha

Probably Fabian or Jens but it seems like back in the day Stuey was very quietly doing the job of 5 helpers so it was probably him dropping back to the cars before riding back up to the front and pacing the peloton for 100 more Ks. Did anybody mention yet that Saxo actually won the 2010 TdS? Questioning top results like that seems silly to me. If a DS wants to watch TV all day I don't care if the team still wins at an elite level. Also, remember those old FootOn jerseys from back in the day?

Makes me wonder how much truth there are in that, "The West Wing" stopped four years before (febuary 2006) that incident and if it is truth it is four years before Tinkov even where a part of the team and the sole owner where Bjarne Riis.

Get a job where you can see tv all day if you want that, if you are good enough to do all the other parts in the job you might even earn 1million Euro per year, however I doubt you find it if you compare something old and doubtful with present.

If you know some people behind the scenes there are a completely different story behind the suspension, Bjarne where together with some of his cycling friends/partners and the Vodka man (Tinkov) where pissed over that he actually did that instead of sucking Tinkov when he wanted him there and that why Bjarne said stop but when people show no fear of Tinkov he threaten with suing and fireing, this situation is very simple the Siberian gangster got the finger.

I find it harder and harder to imagine Riis coming back.

Tinkov has gone on the offensive insulting a huge danish fanbase...
I doubt this is good bussiness, more it seems to have become personal..
I wonder how long SaxoBank will accept this before they pull the plug:

Oleg Tinkov ‏@olegtinkov 37 min
I think if each stupid Dan that writing here would give €10; they could have bought it back from me.But I know you're too cheap, we RUle

He also tweeted some Danish clearly through G-translate:

Oleg Tinkov @olegtinkov · 8 t.
Din patriot solgte hans team! Og i lang tid ikke bor i Danmark, vågn op. Hold hepper på det russiske hold, eller gå drikke snaps med sild :)
Something like this:
Your patriot sold his team, and for a long time has not ben living in Denmark.
Cheer for russian team or go drink schnapps and eat herring :)
Oleg Tinkov @olegtinkov · 8 t.
Stop klynker! Er du ikke skammer?Rich nation og kan ikke finde nogen, der vil bruge penge på det danske hold.Du billigt. Denne russiske hold!
Something like this:
Stop whining! aren't you ashamed? Rich nation can't find anyone spending money on the danish team. Youi cheaps. This team is russian!

I agree, seems Tinkov is pushing it so much that Saxo has to pull out as well, but lets see what happens over weekend, when Saxo apparently is going to try to get everyone together.

His tweets are definitely over the top and insulting but I do find them amusing and I think he is trying to be funny.

And he is right about the lack of Danish sponsors and if there wasnt for him, this team would not exist. Simple as that whether you like it or not.

And Sagan fails again. Tinkov validated?

Didn't Oleg himself nod to sign Sagan in the first place? What is he going to next? Fire Contodar or Sagan? I bet he would like to fire them if he can somehow escape the Kx not paying them anymore.

Somehow I love his insulting behavior. At least he's straight with his furious punchlines. That's the east European temperament I'm missing in Western Europe nowadays. Except Italy of course. ^^

He has taken things too far with all his comments. That being said, he has a right to demand that Riis does his job. If he felt that Riis wasn't fully committed then I don't blame him for suspending Riis. The team needs to act quickly so this thing doesn't drag on.

It's conjecture to say Riis was not committed to the team.

People are dragging up one very old story, which by the way was the last time most of the riders in question were contenders (thanks to Riis), as an example of lack of commitment today, so many years later.

It's ridiculous.

Tinkov IS a vodka clown, and is, thankfully, the type of team owner who will not have longevity in the sport... he will find some other pet sport in a few years and be gone.

In the meantime, he is funny to listen to, except when you happen to think about him being a perfect example of how russians view the west.

Instead of suspended Bjarne, maybe the best way is sit down and draw the rules and expectation for Bjarne. That's how company deals with their employee. Not just immediately suspend or fire them. Today, Sagan was toast 3km to go. With all the commotion is probably hard for him to concentrate, and god knows who's giving him direction in the car. They need a leader to lead the team, other wise everyone is just making up their own rule. This gotta be stopped. And using twitter to insult the fans isn't a really smart way to solve problem. He sometimes forget he represents his team and his business and not just personally.

With TS results are far from being called "the best team in the world", sky definitely has walked all over Oleg's head. I bet Brailsford sent Oleg text saying: "how's that maple now, comrade?"

From what I understood it wasn't just one old story but something that several people have noted (Riis not being 100% committed to his job anymore). But who knows how much that (if it's true) has influenced the decision to suspend Riis. Maybe it wasn't a problem when he was the boss and his team got results but with Tinkov in charge and not happy with the results...

I agree that Tinkov most likely will be gone from the sport soon.

Maybe he has already done that, maybe not? At the end of the day Tinkov owns the team and it's his decision to make. Oleg might be outspoken and make inappopriate comments on twitter but it's doesn't automatically mean that his decision to suspend Riis was just a temper tantrum.
