I was watching that today and it was an impressive unreal performance. Somedoy mentioned jamaica's testing but the fact is jamaica doesn't run the testiong, ethier wada or the IOC do the testing and bolt is tested alot. Do I believe he is clean, I have no clue but I haven't heard of a jamaican track athlete testing positive. But very good posts, I think I'm going to like this place.

God hell, i listen to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Nazareth and 80s Metallica now, just to come down from the worst, but then also the most emotional, day in sports ever (including every Epo-Lance-"Heroics"). I am confused completly....

********OFF TOPIC SPOILER**********

Ahh yes, have listened to them over the years too. I can see a trend there. I mean does it get much better than these guys. The intros in 7th son for instance? Moonchild, 7th son. Alexander the great, and of course The Clairvoyant. Ahhh sweet motivational music

Have you caught up with the new stuff out there? No I don’t mean hearing that the lead singer of Judas Priest’s came out

Time to get with the times FoxyBrown1111

Download these 4 albums as a starting point

-System of a Down (Steal this Album)- just listen to it ALL
-Iced Earth (The Crucible of Man) or youtube “The Dimension Gauntlett”
-Disturbed (indestructible) or youtube “the night/ or stupefy/ or down with the sickness”
-Circus Maximus - The 1st Chapter (an epic album but start with “Sin” on youtube maybe)

My wife sat down to watch Flight 666 (Iron maiden) with me last night, what a cracker- those guys are like something out of Spinal Tap- definitely worth watching

You also want to listen to Journeyman from Iron Maiden - Dance Of Death if you haven’t

Get your kids into this music before they turn to the dark side (GreenDay). Oon that- try an Aussie group called “The Living End”. Can’t recommend them highly enough

I only raise this here rather than PM it to draw distinction that the ONLY reason that the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith and Alice Cooper are still alive is because they had the money to buy the really good s**t which everyone else couldn’t afford it

Perhaps when we are still posting here in 40 years and LA, Michael Phelps and Mr Bolt are doing charity triathlons we’ll all how are they are still alive when a generation of today’s athletes swimmers soccer players and cyclists all dropped dead from heart attacks in the early 2020’s. Epitaphs on tombstones all reading “Doc you were right, I should have paid that extra 5%”

they just took about 6 athletes out of competition two weeks ago. Jamaica definitely has a few performance doctors working on their aths team. It is becoming a cottage industry in Jamaica, like Cali and Silicon Valley.

It's very possible that Bolt dopes.

But this thread has become unfunny, and a couple of the comments have bordered on racist. Not to mention the endless boring uninventive Armstrong jokes.
While Jamaican testing is probably pretty lax, the guy does get tested by WADA and international track authorities. So whatever he's on, it's good enough to beat them too. Most likely some designer steroid ala the "Clean". EPO would do nada for him.

All that said, big jumps in the record could come from someone who breaks the mold like him. I would expect the shorter, more muscular traditional sprinters to make the incremental changes. If a big guy like Bolt really could figure out some way to turn over his stride faster (yes cadence) then you would see those big improvements in time.

David Suro said:
Bolt's improvement in performance can be accredited largely to the fact that he is still maturing as a human. The kid is only 23 years old. Males do not typically reach peak muscular maturity until they are 25. We can expect him to improve for another couple of years, at least.

Another fact that gives him an advantage is his height of 6'5". Running speed is determined by two factors: stride length and stride frequency. Sprinters train specifically to improve both of these aspects of performance. with all other factors being roughly equal among top sprinters (access to coaching, stride frequency, nutrition, shoes, etc.) it makes sense that Bolt is dominant.

It was only a matter of time before a sprinter of his height and with the biomechanical structure (origin and insertion points of quads, hams, glutes, and calves), and muscle fiber composition (predominately glycolytic white fibers) would come along and smash a lot of records.

in other words, he is a total baddass. strong and smooth. and fun to watch.
"the kids got moxie, i tell ya!"

Knock knock….. (reply please)

Yeah, somewhere Ben Johnson just watched, and hopefully he's laughing his ass off too.

Relax Foxy. It's just an experiment, that's all you saw. Sort of like seeing an autopsy for the first time. But I'm sure Dr. Maserati will be in later to console you and let you know you'll get used to it, like the rest of us.

At some point here we're going to go past the physiological limit, and reach an anatomical one. We'll likely see a sprinter head down a track so fast, and with so much power, he'll literally snap a limb.

The bad part is that most of the pipo believe in what they saw. It seems here in the clinic are the only pipo who see whats going on.

The crowd cheered "Bolt, Bolt". I mean of course, the crowd was great and wild, the emotions were high etc. But still the first thing in my mind was omg what Drugs have they gone to. I tought the early 80s and late 70s were bad. Now it seems those were the good times in sports. Its absurd.

History repeats itself and pipo turn a blind side to it. Its like when everybody cheered Ben Johnson (or Epo-Lance or Phelps) and tried to explain how great it was and why he was so fast. Nobody mentioned Doping. His record was also 0,13 seconds better then the 2nd. It never happened before that. The records used to be broken by 0,01-0,03.

The old drugs were placebos as Peter Winnen said, now its a whole new game. May we all should start to believe BroDeal now?? It seems its worse then what we all discuss here (BroDeal, Maserati, BlackCat, Berospenner, Cobblestons etc.).

Up to yesterday i believed what i learned: You can improve the "slow/short" muscles above the physiological limit, but not the "fast/long" ones. Now Doping-Science is re-written and nobody outside the clinic and the experts (investigative journalists, Scientists, Docs) see it. Its a big cheating to our kids. Thats the worst part.

Yes i tried some of the new stuff (Dance of the Dead etc.). To be honest i like the old songs more. You see even sports was better in the 80s. The bad things started with Indurain, Ben Johnson and 300-pound-NFL-Lineman. All that BS started at the late 80s, at the same time when Metal was going dead. Its all artificial since then. Thats the big time cut :(

JimmyMac, Carl Lewis, Hinault, Lemond seem to be the last true heros. As far as my research goes, it seems they was on "soft" drugs only. :) There was a limit.

I dont think we are still posting here in 40years. Sports will have killed itself over corruption and doping. Its not going to be healed. Since yesterday i see WADA is leading to nothing. Actually WADA is dead, since Epo-Lance forced Pound out of service.

Its going to be like when the old creek sport died. Again history repeats itself. We are seeing the last moments of sports.

Hope all you pipo here in the clinic speak out to the (still) blind pipo, wake them up.

The Powerslave album bit. And yes when they tissed up the heair with Def Leppard etc it was all over
truly thou, just try those songs
and there is techno-metal, thats good (youtube "techno-viking"
techno, heavy metal and classical- 3 fav genres

40 years- agree

Just look at swimming. they've killed it. Dead in the water. A carcass

WADA and pound- well, we knew that. they hushed up Los Angeles 84, Soul 88, and on and on and on

Money talks and B/S walks. thats how the game workds

what i want to know is, how do they choose the sacrificial lambs?

this year was a dud of a year for my friends in TdF. where is the sport going? hopefully for the better

Bolt is a metaphor for so many things in this world. Can't wait for the video clip with 16 semi nakes girls gyrating. and then the soft drink, and then the book. Surely no one buys this any more?

What a shame a superb athlete is consigned and ignored- he is probably the fastest there ever was is all were clean- but we'll never know.

i wonder when he made the decision. poor life, no education, or, a US college scholarship, wealth, a future for wife kids.

of course one perspective could be that it was stolen from a true clean athlete

yes, sport is a mess. how to celebrate without cynicism? i guess it takes us back to simpler things. Family and friends....and of course....IRON MAIDEN!!!!!!!!

IRON MAIDEN!!!!!!!!

It may sound absurd, but cycling seems much "normal" then other sports now. I mean we "only" improved 5 km/h since the 60s. Yet there was heavier bikes and longer stages back then.

Swimming: You are right. They dont even care anymore. No more Blood-Tests, no more Out-of-Competition-Tests....

Track: Well its official dead since yesterday. Women looking like Men now. The last fast beauty was Evelyn Ashford. That was nature. Long gone...

The best performance yesterday: The crowd was superb 1+, a true happening... i go there once more, but only coz my daughter wants it. May i see Bolt run below 19 sec.! All i know now: It will be absurd again.

Up the Irons :)

Ah you mean Isinbyeva, i've always been a fan of her too, she has great eyes too and seems a really sweet girl when you hear her talking. I think she is already spoken for though although she hasn't met me yet so always a chance :D

From what I understand Bolt was pretty good as a 15 and 16 year old. I'm not sure if that makes him an espoir in T & F terms.

But improving by 0,45 sec. in 2 years? Even Epo-Lance would be proud of this. Thats like improving by 3 mins. at a long ITT. Well, then again, Epo-Lance did exactly do that.

So which drug is it now? I think BroDeal knows ;)

Bolt runs so fast because he is the first guy to have mastered sprinting technique with a 6'5 frame, do you know any other sprinters who are 6'5?
Also, use your common sense, either doping is rife in athletics or it isn't, the chances of one guy being head and shoulders above the rest because he has the best drugs are fantastically slim.

Genetic manipulation? What's that stuff cheetahs (the cats) have in their muscles. Myo-something. It helps actin-myosin filament bonding/breaking/re-bonding really fast and plays a huge part in expression of "pure" speed (i.e. speed in short activities not subject to glycolysis like 60m/100m etc). It's an enzyme I think. That's annoying that I can't remember but it plays a big role in how quickly fast-twitch muscles can repeatedly twitch also proven invitro.

Aesthetically its beautiful

timewise its phenomenal

6'5" is tall. I guess we'll see the LA Lakers out on track next week eh.

Also, your head and shoulders argument is justification is why they as to why they should give Ben Johnson his world record and gold medal back.
