Alp, that's how religion works: pick and choose what works for you. ie: banging prostitutes while your wife is asleep is OK, but gay people are animals. Banging interns, and getting hammered nightly is OK, but gay rites are wrong. Abortion is wrong, but killing abortion doctors is OK. etc...etc...Alpe d'Huez said:What's sad and ignorant about what he quoted, is that it cherry picks words from the Old Testament (Leviticus 20:13), in an English translation, without making any effort to understand who the Levi were, or what the focus of the book of Leviticus was about. This has been done many times by many ignorant Christians. The book is primarily aimed the Levi, or Levites, and their vicars, as a set of rules during a time of few moral laws, or rules, when even pedophilia was tolerated in some areas. If someone really wants to understand the Levi, they really need to read the entire book, and study some history.
It should also be very clear that this was not the teachings of Jesus, nor part of the New Testament. So many people collapse all of Christian lineage history together, as if Jesus was unaware of the Torah, or history and teachings before him! Anyone who reads any of the New Testament can clearly see this.

Just wondering...
Merckx index said:Manny Pacquiao, who has made anti-gay remarks before, finally went too far even for Nike. They dropped their sponsorship after he said gays were "worse than animals". Besides being bigoted, Manny is ignorant, as homosexuality has in fact been observed in nature.
For the first and maybe last time, Mayweather looks superior to Pacquiao outside the ring, as he issued a statement that he was fully supportive of the LGBT community.
What's so ironic about this is that the Philippines is one of the most gay-tolerant countries in the world. I know many gays over here, everyone does, and I've never heard of any making any attempt to hide their orientation, nor do they need to. They may be the objects of jokes and teasing, but it's all done in a spirit of kindness. Manny's homophobia clearly stems from his Biblical literalism, which is a minority view in this mostly Catholic country, though it's support has been increasing.
"...the change will result in a decrease in concussions." I had read this before, less chance of TBI without head gear.movingtarget said:No More Head Gear At The Olympics

Headgear mostly just stops cuts and bruises, it doesn't do too much to stop brain trauma, it gives a false sense of security. It can hinder you vison (a little bit) and your head becomes a bigger target.jmdirt said:"...the change will result in a decrease in concussions." He found that in the 7,352 rounds that took place with boxers wearing headgear, the rate of concussion was 0.38 per cent, compared with 0.17 per cent per boxer per round in the 7,545 rounds without headgear."

Strange, sounds a bit like Ali versus Inoki all over again. A mismatch I would not watch for free. How much money does Mayweather need ? I checked the calendar and it's not 1 April after all !
Would they just box each other? McGregor would get the snot beat out of him. If they were to go into the octogon Mayweather would get the beatdown that he deserves so badly. I don't see how they could create a competitive fight in either discipline.gooner said:A report in the last couple of days said a Mayweather v McGregor fight was in the works.
