In what year did that happen?

Etape 2007 apparently. Rogers riding for t mobile, Dave B watching the Tour on TV, Rogers riding in to the lead (but falls off), and Dave B calls him out for being dirty.

I think it was an exceptionally tough Etape that year as he forgot all about Rogers when he signed him for Sky, then remembered and had to let him go to Saxo bank and pay his salary.

easy to take the moral high ground on a forum.............DB had no control

over millar's doping...............why not reserve your faux outrage for a proper

story........something along the lines of DB doped millar to olympic gold?

Mark L

Because as you perfecftly well know, this particular line of discussion isn't about db doping people, it's about sky acting and being portrayed as, a team that won't have anything to do with dopers. If they have such difficulties taking the moral highground, they should never have claimed they won't work with dopers and Walsh should never have written that bs about them not even tolerating dopers in the tour guide. Jalabert can't even appear in the tour guide but TS can be used as some Jesus like inspiration figure and epo cheater Dm is called upon whenever an international medal is needed? Lies and hypocrisy

my 10 cents: Brailsford goes there to supply Millar

Too funny....you guys are nuts. But I do love the idea of the head Coach of the British team flying over to france with a few vials of EPO stashed in his hand luggage!

I'm as sceptical of Brailsford and Sky as the next man but I don't see him as a drugs mule.

10 cents only. wouldn't bet my fortune on it.

but what are the odds: doping endorsing cycling manager travels to france to meet doper, doper gets busted in restaurant. products are found. Doper doesn't mention his provider (or comes up with crap story about how he got the PEDs as a present in Spain).
how often had they met before? what are the odds. perfect timing.

btw, i don't see brailsford as a drugs mule either, but this could have been a family favor.

"My job is to pick the fastest team, the best team that can win that race in London. It is not my job to decide if somebody is eligible or not," said Brailsford, who helped support Millar after he was banned for two years in 2004 for injecting EPO.

Lets apply that quote to Sky and it might read....

"My job is to win with teamSky, be best team that can win that any race in cycling. It is not my job to be an anti doping agency," said Brailsford, who helped support Millar after he was banned for two years in 2004 for injecting EPO.

I think if the French cops had thought for one moment Brailsford was in on it then he wouldn't have got out within five hours.

This much is true.

Or maybe Brailsford is not as stupid as Millar and leaving evidence to be found so easily. Not hard to defeat the Gendarmes. Motoman was doing it for years.

Brits don't Bait

It took forever but was worth the wait to surface the truth. Mild-mannered middle manager Davy Brailsford by day, international drug mule on the weekend. It's always the quiet ones. Good thread: 1700+ posts... (my first at #1717)

Are you sure? Let's not forget that he allowed Wiggins to spend about a year '12/'13 destabilising Froome (which shouldn't have been too difficult).

The Wiggo/Froome situation has shown him to be somewhat lacking in the managing talent/ego department.

Odd because that seemed to be a strength in the track days, but I guess that's a different talent pool, who had generally all worked together much longer, so was probably much easier to manage.

Come on guys, this is even too far fetched for you. I can completely agree that Sky can look dodgy but Brailsford is not carting drugs all over Europe to supply riders. If you really think he is up to his eyeballs doping his riders then that's fair enough. You can make a case for that.

But come on hes not transporting it himself and dishing it out. Don't make youself look foolish with a statement like that.

Well isn't the story Millar didn't fess up until 47 hours into his capativity, wouldn't the French cops lean on Brailsford for longer to see whether he'd break first, or would they have needed a warrant to hold him longer?

take a step back....

if two clubbers (think the second summer of love) get arrested for the alleged possession of drugs and clubber one gets arrested after they find some

.....would you 'seriously' take seriously clubber two saying that on his release he had to take clubber one aside to ask him what was going on??????????

give us a break :)....transporting or not his position doesn't pass the straight face test, like froome, like wiggins, like JTL etc etc.....

Maybe try reading the thread, there is about 2 or 3 pages about brailsford being with Miller with numerous contributions, and talk of Brailsford supplying the dope that he got caught with.
BUT YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT, DIDNT YOU!

Trolling maybe.

Im not disputing the fact that Brailsford might be mixed up in doping sky riders, that's definatley possible. Its the possibility that he is carting the stuff around Europe on his own person that I find ridiculous.

It's taken eleven years for this story about Brailsford supplying Millar to come out. Well done to the detective work of those here responsible for uncovering the truth.
