No the Spanish just cover up for the footballs and tennis stars. How many of the Fuentes clients have been named? And how many have been covered up?

Who covered what up? The names from the Fuentes files were made public, no? Several riders were suspended, including Spanish ones.

Let's not forgot get the Nike sponsored cover up with Coe and Radcliffe!

You are good. Bot dancing is fun!

Sure, there were no Spanish journalists clapping Contador as he arrived into his press conference on the day of his ban.

People can't be polite? What is the world coming to! :)

Until Davide Walshado writes 400 pages of Spanish BS about Contador and Saxo, I think we can safely say the Spanish are not as nearly as over the top as the Brits on Sky.

Walsh is British now?

Exactly. There is no Spanish version of Walsh. He is in a league of his own on hyperbole and made up BS

(Note the way I spelt Walsh's name, subtlety perhaps not your strong point?)

Has David Cameron, or indeed any Brit PM, ever intervened to try and overturn a GB doping case?

David Cameron was instead doing drugs himself

Don't think we've had a Spanish drug taking PM!

Maybe you missed the Spanish high court judgement that forbade the release of Spanish athletes implicated in Puerto?

It was an inexplicable decision...just like Birottes move to shut down Novitsky.

But no, the Spanish are different, aren't they :D

Didn't Fuentes say "If I would talk, the Spanish football team would be stripped of the 2010 World Cup"?

Just saying

And as far as bot dancing goes, I'd call this the old hoggie two-step

The court did no such thing. All it did was not to compel Fuentes to reveal them names.

Love a good bot tale... all made up as usual.

In January 2013, the Operacion Puerto trial went underway, and Eufemiano Fuentes offered to reveal the names of all the athletes who were his clients. Julia Santamaria, the judge presiding the trial, told Fuentes that he was not under obligations to name any athlete other than the cyclists implicated. Fuentes stated that he supplied athletes in other sports with drugs and said: “I could identify all the samples [of blood]. If you give me a list I could tell you who corresponds to each code on the [blood] packs.”

So far you've used Walsh and Nike, neither of whom are British, and now this? I expected better hog, you are slipping

“Real Sociedad acquired medicines for €328,000 [£282,000] that were not listed in the accounts. This means there is another type of accounting at practice here – there is no supporting documentation, no bills or delivery details that can be identified. We know of the entries in the other accounts, the days payments were made and the people who were paid.”

If you look up 'strawman' in the dictionary, you'll find this post.

Probably best to let Hoggy play with himself Jimmy, he's embarrassed himself enough now.
Bot Dance 2015.

Only Spanish players dope on teams where Spanish and Brits play together.

Gareth Bale thanks-you for the support

Haha had to look that up. And Englishmen in the 1930s, Toshack (WElsh) twice in the 1980s/early nineties, Chris Coleman (Welsh) more recently and David Moyes (Scottish). At least this time you managed to not mistake an Irishman for a Brit.

How many Spanish mangers have Sociedad had?

So the Irish, Scottish, Welsh dope or manage a team that dopes but not the Brits.

That's the biggest strawman of all strawmans!

That is very cool!

The goalposts have been moved from the media and Spanish response to doping to British involvement in Spanish football.

And before anyone says anything, in the football thread, I said Toshack should have been approached by the media and questioned over this as he was at Sociedad during this period.

Apologies, you are quite correct, I was getting my wires crossed. she didn't ban the release of names

No, what she actually did was far worse. She ordered the destruction of the Puerto blood bags to guarantee that they could never be tested and identified.

As the NYT said;

"A Spanish judge ordered on Tuesday the destruction of more than 200 blood bags seized in a raid of a major European doping ring that catered to elite athletes, thwarting an effort to uncover possibly one of the biggest doping scandals in history."

And as *** Pound said:

"*** Pound, the former chief of the World Anti-Doping Agency who was in charge of the agency when the Fuentes investigation began seven years ago, said the judge’s decision to keep the evidence from antidoping authorities “seriously undermines the credibility of sport.” He added that Spain risks becoming a haven for dopers unless it takes a harder line regarding athletes who use drugs to cheat."

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/01/sports/cycling/spanish-doctor-sentenced-in-operation-puerto-doping-case-in-cycling.html?_r=0"

But no, the Spanish are different, aren't they :D :D :D

Oh yes it has been answered, by Wendy, despite the best efforts to derail it.

But what are you fighting against?

Are you trying to say that only the Spanish dope and protect their athletes? The British don't?

Both Spanish and British dope, cover it up and protect their own. Its very straightforward :)

From Valverde to Radcliffe, they are all the same.

Not at all. Valverde doped and it was attempted to be covered up. Radcliffe doped and the cover up is on-going, rather successfully mind you.

Keep going and you might prove that Eddie the Eagle was cleans :)

The premise of the last few pages is that the Brits gloss over doping, whereas the Latins accept/embrace it.

Clearly, this is nonsense! But hey, its been fun :)
