Simon could use a change of scenery, and he may even, or should, get leadership at the Giro. Cian is hardly a lock at the moment and Jorgenson is not yet proven to be GC material.

The aspect of the brotherly struggle/fight, each brother in one of the two current top teams, is of course interesting.

But it remains a shame that almost all the good sub-toppers are taken away from the "normal" teams in order to strengthen the already monstrously strong UAE and VLAB teams. To a slightly lesser extent the Bora and Ineos teams. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the regular decent teams (Soudal-Quickstep, Movistar, Lotto, Uno X, a few promising French teams) to compete. Just outnumbered in champions, superdomestiques and power.

I don't think Bora are doing it to a lesser extent, Hindley is a GT winner and isn't even Roglic's main domestique.

At least Ineos just have three GT podium pretenders (Thomas, Rodriguez, Bernal), all at a similar level. One per race, if needed. None are being used mainly as luxury domestiques for the other.

For his previous contract, but AC alluded to what his alternative was for next year. It's only a real pay-cut to sign for Visma if their offer was lower than another offer.

Jayco expected Yates to stay and were happy to offer him a commensurate wage to his last contract. Yates could have received more money in his last two contracts if he had left Jayco. AC can allude as much as they want, but there is no reason to doubt Yates version of events. After all, it is common for riders to seek fresh opportunities at a lower wage. For example,Jorgenson publically stated he accepted a lower wage to join Visma.

Yates had interest from Tudor and Israel, who I assume were offering more than Visma would given Froome will be off the books at the end of next year.

Simon Yates said in January that he never got a superteam offer when questioned about Adam at UAE.

The implication was that he would definitely take an offer and it didn't give the best impression of jayco

I feel like Jorgenson is closer than Cian. 8th in the TDF while riding in support of eventual 2nd place teammate is more impressive than 8th in the Vuelta after a back and forth battle with a teammate. Also Jorgenson can time trial.

I am interested in whether Simon will ride the World's. He's not stellar at one-day races, however, the parcours is reasonably suitable for his characteristics.
