Timmy-loves-Rabo said:ok ok.
but my point stands, we wont compete after that giro.
He will not make top 5.
Menchov and AS will certainly beat him, I'm sure.
See past your fanboyism, and give the giro the respect it deserves
Liquigas said:Based on his climbing and TT abilities Menchov is the only one who can beat Contador.

blaxland said:Fair point Timmy......But there is no way in hell Menchov will be better placed on Gc than Cadel come the end of Tdf.Gesink would have been my choice to lead Rabo but as we all no he crashed out..Gesink can climb better than Menchov and his TT is on par..Menchov always seems to have a bad in july..But everyone in this tour is racing for second.(Barring crashes, sickness,no luck)Its Contadors to loose.
mickkk said:With regard to his media interviews, thats just him, have to get used to it. If he was pumping himself up after each stage, we would say he has a big head. I think hes too honest. He has no poker face to speak of. He always looks trucked and seems to have a bit of a whinge, but hes not really whinging. An hour after the race he is a different bloke though, trust me.
The alternative is a Cadel who spends 50 grand a year on a media coach, a rider who tells good stories, gives good quotes. Then we just have another bull **** artist in le Tour.
You know, Cadel is one of the friendliest, most genuine blokes in pro ranks. If you happen to fluke him on a training ride down the west coast, hes all for you joining in, he likes the company. If you can keep up you are more than welcome.
He is fit enough to win, he wants to, he just needs one good ride or one ounce of luck.
Timmy-loves-Rabo said:If you think Menchov wont be a factor this tour than I think you have a big surprise ahead of you. Menchov is a excellent GT rider, and I expect to podium.
time will tell

His form this year has been as good as it gets and his confidence would have to be up there.
If Evans is ever going to win le tour he can't be in a better position than he is now. Every other year he has had to make up time. This year the others have to.
If his team is up to it and he is smart using them there is every chance evans will finish in yellow.
Gesink says recovery is going pretty well, his wrist doesn't really bother him that much anymore, he just has to find his legs back. If he can keep up in the Alps, I think he might try an early attack in one of the Pyrenees stages. He could gain back a fair amount of time.blaxland said:Fair point Timmy......But there is no way in hell Menchov will be better placed on Gc than Cadel come the end of Tdf.Gesink would have been my choice to lead Rabo but as we all no he crashed out..Gesink can climb better than Menchov and his TT is on par..Menchov always seems to have a bad in july..But everyone in this tour is racing for second.(Barring crashes, sickness,no luck)Its Contadors to loose.
Just sayin'.Ninety5rpm said:Even if Evans can gain seconds or maybe even a minute or so on AC in the TT, that will not come close to the minutes AC will gain on Evans in the mountains. So will many others. Give it up already.auscyclefan94 said:The final tt in 2007 has a very strong tail wind which helped AC big time in 2007. All of the tt's AC has gone well in have climbs or a technical. Bordeaux has neither of those factors.
Ferminal, Evans has always gone into the tdf with very strong form early so the lapse of training for cadel post giro may help him come into form in the final week.

funny how he was sticking it to contador one day, then way out the back the next. the fact his broken elbow coincided with that is of course, to the haters, mere coincidence.mickkk said:Well we are all gutted to say the least, but at least he will ride to the finish. Hard to blame the elbow without seeing some xrays. I think he may be overcooked in the end.
