I officially apologise to Blackcat. He was right.

How stupid is evans? S/L have a far better support crew for him. Evans is going to regret this big time in the future. Very stupid idiotic descision. He will regret this big time.

The 2 of you are going to have to go to marriage counseling over this one.;)

BMC? what the hell...

well S/L wasnt giving him the support he needed to win and he would have trouble in the next few years staying as leader of the team with 100% support. I just dont see how BMC can be any better unless they are going to sign new riders in the next few weeks. I guess we will have to wait and see on this one.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Evans content to contest the Giro next year. The Tour will be tough to win. In Italy he'd be well received. A Giro win probably means more to Evans than 3-5 at the Tour.

If that is true then I want to know what Cadel has been smoking the last week. He's made some very big aspirations well known. A lot of people have been saying Cadel should ride the Giro.

If what Angliru said about Ballan and Hincapie transpires Cadel better pray for some quality signings.

wow- the damn drama lasted 24 hours only!!:D anyways, I find it a good move if his GT ambitions are put to rest once for all, so he can have more freedom to maneuver throughout the season getting as many stages/week racers victories as he can-- He will find a great roster for the classics-which is where I see some problems coping with Hincapie & Ballan ambitions.. it's done and let's get it going -so good luck Cadel (you bet you'll need lots of it):)

Hincapie and Ballan are for cobbled classics and Kroon + Evans would target the Ardenne classics

Hincapie is only a couple of tour appearances away from the longevity record, no? I'd bet he does it at least a couple more times.

Nobody seriously thought evans was going to BMC.

In response to your post, I repeat, "Blackcat did". I don't recall ever saying that I did. Now you though, were the one person that insisted that there was absolutely no way that BMC was possible. Of course you apologized to Blackcat for the heated exchanges the two of you shared BUT don't take out your frustrations on me because you're unhappy with your hero's choice. I was just reminding you of who "seriously thought Evans was going to BMC" because judging from your post you have quite the short memory.;)

i wasn't taking my frustrations out on you. i wa making the point that the poll is misleading as hardly anyone would of seriously thought he was going to BMC other than blackcat.

The poll is hardly misleading...look at the options, remember other doesn't imply BMC, still people are still voting now...so that is a little skewed.

Black and white, official colours of pro continental teams with a major sponsor bike manufacturer...on bikes, how will Evans get low enough on a BMC TT?

I didn't bother to look at or participate in the poll since I came in on all of this after BMC was announced as his intended destination. BMC seems to be the least likely option if winning the Tour is his true goal. I'm sure his choice shocked the mass majority of the forum. I'm just mad that the Contador move hasn't been so quickly resolved.:D

He wants to win the tour:
From CE's website.
Yes, it is true... BMC! I have chosen to ride with the BMC Racing Team for 2010 and beyond. A small but growing team of experienced staff and riders that I see has a lot of potential, and a mentality that fits nicely with my own, both on a sporting, technical and social level. I look forward to working with a new team, in a new environment, towards my same goals; honouring the Rainbow jersey at the highest level of the sport, and ultimately at the highest step of the Tour de France podium.

Also on cycling news the other day it also said:

"I am tired of being known as the bloke who finishes second in the Tour de France," he told the AAP news agency.

"I had a lot of bad luck this year but I am already looking ahead to next year and am more determined than ever to win it, I won't be satisfied until I have."

"It is unlike the yellow jersey in the Tour de France as you never know how long you get to wear that, and it will mean a great deal to me to wear it in Geelong for next year's race."

Obviously that means he wants to win the tour.

I have no clue..., you know nothing, a cyclist doesn't race for money. they race to win. BMC won't even be inivited to the tour. I know that you are wrong for a fact.

Auscyclefan94 - I hope you have given your sources a good talking to, as their facts weren't very - um factful!

Right back at post number 4, Blackcat picked BMC...

Sorry, but Angliru has a good point here

The poll is misleading...and this from the creator of the Poll - so the 52.9% of people that chose other are misleading...I chose other but didn't state what team I thought it would be because I really didn't have a clue. This has been one of the quietest transfers out so how could anyone have a clue. But you seemed to know for a fact that he wasn't.

i know, but they are the colours of my afl team so i don't mind it.
And this explains everything...you follow a team that chokes at the most important moment of the football year!
