We said the same thing last tour, speculating on an alliance between Nibali, Evans and van den Broeck, but we just give ourselves false hope. They care far too much about their top 10 position to form alliances with others designed to stop Sky winning.

ahh, but with Evans in less than stellar form, Nibali never before on the podium of the tour and Van Den Broeck never a true contender for the win, they had every reason to be satisfied with what they had.

This year though we see some much better climbers in Purito, Contador and Valverde, maybe even Schleck, who have to get away from SKY not only to beat Froome, but to beat Porte and Wiggins, we know Contador is only interested in the top spot on the podium, Valverde might be glad to make i to third or even fifth, Rodriguez? I's the big question, in the vuelta he gambled his second to get a shot at the overall win, but in the tour he might not be so eager, however he has to get away from alot of riders not just the SKY leaders so he will have to attack and if only one or two riders can follow he might continue his assault to get rid of the ones who can't follow.

I think the only way Sky doesn't win is if the other team leaders ride extremely aggressively and constantly attack a bit like the Vuelta. Also they should attack arguably Sky's biggest weakness their leaders' descending abilities.

The TT will always bring Rodriguez down even though he has improved. Forget Schleck in 2013. Could not win a grand tour this year if he started now and he knows it.

It is posible, but Valverde must be in a good shape, Contador must be a contender, Andy as well, and Evans as well... other way is difficult, if Wiggins is strong and working.

But for me Froome deserves it

why did you say Rodriguez won't be so eager in the tour? He was so adamant to find a team with a chance for TDF when katusha was denied WT license. He knows that this is his chance to win it. Other wise he should just go to the Giro and beat wiggin. There are plenty of short and steep climb in the Giro that suits him. The last TT is not pancake flate anyway, he's not going to loose too much time in the Giro. I think Rodriguez is eyeing the TDF podium or even win it. No doubt. Less TT, more mountain, the parcours is designed to his liking.

I can see Nibali making an alliance with Contador. Van den Broeck is too weak and so does Evan. At least with Contador, you know when he attacks, better be following him.
