Afrank said:2 years! 2 years we've been waiting for Cance to again pull off the double. And at last...he has done it again! Deserved victory after the last couple years he has had. Very happy for him.
Most definitely a legend!
Hey, does everybody remember that 'is cancellara past his prime' thread? I think we have our answer.![]()

Just for seeing Netserk going completely beserk when people vote for the overrated Cance in stead of the greatest cycling-legend Tommeke![]()

wiggos sideburn said:All I'm seeing is people saying he was lucky because Vanmarcke had the wrong tactics and wasn't smart enough, the OMQS got hit by fans and Boonen wasn't in the race.
But stuff like this happens every year, Cancellara outsmarted Vanmarcke, Stybar was unlucky but doubtful he would of won anyway, the other OMQS rider was going backwards and when Boonen won last year Cancellara wasn't there. Also lets not forget Cancellara was unlucky as he crashed twice this week so it's doubtful he was even 100%.
Christian said:I would like to say SUCK ON THAT BJARNE but I won't because there are always two sides to a story and I guess Bjarne did get screwed over pretty bad, so he probably made his comments in anger a couple years ago. Remember he said Cancellara was only going to go downhill from now on, and for a while it seemed like he was right, but look at him now, he is right back at the top. Okay, the competition was not strong this year, but the triple is still the triple, and now he has done it again.
I would also like to say SUCK ON THAT NETSERK but that would be considered baiting and/or bashing and/or sinking to his level and result in a ban on my part so I won't say that either.
In any case... very happy for Fabian, he is one of my all-time favourite riders, just top class guy all around. A couple of years ago there was a poster named Ryaguas who would always call Cancellara "the c0cky c0ck" (mods: I am not trying to avoid the swearing filter, just quoting another user). Personally, I think this could not be further from the truth, I think Fabian is incredibly humble considering his massive success. But maybe the last couple of years with many, many 2nd and 4th places (even at WC RR in Copenhaguen) and crashes and injuries were humbling to him. They say "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"... I think it made him stronger indeed!

Lanark said:The only thing really missing on his palmares is a road world championship (I consider LBL or Lombardia only possible in an extremely lucky scenario).
It's going to be tough though. Firenze and Ponferrada are looking to be two really difficult routes, he'll have to find his Mendrizio legs to compete in such a race. I don't know about Richmond, he'll be 33 by that time, I'm not sure how many more years like this he has in his legs.

Netserk said:1st: It was not the triple. It was the double plus E3. The triple is G-W, RVV and P-R. Only done twice.
2nd: How would that be sinking to my level? I have never said 'suck on that' or anything similar to any Canc fans when Boonen won. I don't understand your hatred.
Troll detector is on at maximum reading...I have no way to turn it off.El Pistolero said:But he also lost 6 Monuments when being one of the strongest in each and everyone of them and the Olympic time trial and Road Race by mistakes he personally made. I think that's a tougher pill to swallow for Cancellara fans. At least before this year.![]()
