Don't let him go back to Colombia next year simples. I honestly don't get how he is not serious with that talent. I honestly though he would be a dominator of the classics, especially when their so open now he could have been the very best with Gilbert not what he was.

The guy is a professional sportsman how can he as a cyclist have WC and Lombardy staring at him and get fat.
When he goes home after the classics or if he does the Giro he should still have more goals. Or why not give him a 5 month contract Jan-May. As that is when he performs.

You know someone has serious issues when they can not even get up for the pinnacle in this sport, the TDF were he could have won white. No way was the guy ill.

Is Betancur contracted for next year yet ? Just wondering. If not, what's happening currently is not helping him.

He is under contract with Ag2r until 2016. There was rumors that he was going to be released from his contract, but Ag2r came out saying he was staying and things had been "worked out." I guess the term "things are worked out" has a wide range of meanings. :)

Okay thanks. I thought I read somewhere that he had been released from his current contract. The first few months of next season could be interesting !

Apart from the food trough, does he have any temptations?

I find it very difficult to imagine how a kid who obviously worked hard enough to get the results he has obtained can suddenly lose focus without other mitigating circumstances.

Gilbert tweeting about other rides not being at their top level is funny, but only at his expense.
