Betancur is somehow behind Guardini on GC (a thing that I did not think was physically possible), though he did manage to finish 49 seconds ahead of him today.

Guardini is an underrated climber. I've said if for years now, but you guys wont listen

He surely as to do more than just finish the race. He has to show something that shows he is capable of even finishing the World Championship course within half an hour of the winner.

He doesn't have to convince you, he has to convince the coach of the Colombia team. Betancur is capable of getting in shape quick, see this year's February with Operation Bikini. I'm not saying that Betancur will become World Champion, but that he is an obese, lazy b*stard is further from the truth.

exactly. the guy is clealry riding aroudn this vuelta at 70% effort or somet5hing. completly differenty from last year where he was struggling evrerywhere and he basiclaly blew his engine for 3 weeks.

I would not reward him at all by selecting him. Make him earn it at least. He hasn't earned it.

If Alexis Camacho was eligible, I would pick him too over Betancur.

you see the way eh rides. for instance few days agao he finished in hilly finish with about 60 riders behind him. he has that form without going full. so he;'s clealry not going full in any mountainstage unlike last year where he was completley empty and got worse with the day

lol duarte? if one rider doesn't deserve it. it's him. he's in worse form even than betancurt. and avila? please he's been terrible since his comeback from injury
