I feel like there was a case a few years ago, but I can't seem to find it.

In the slowmo he only raises his arm whem Roglic is in his bike throw, so he didnt really miss vital pedal strokes but just missed the bike throw, which doesnt make half a bike lengths difference
Oh, I think it does.

I remember when Sagan won in Bern in the Tour and Kristoff didn't throw his bike. Sagan was like a wheel behind him both a meter before and after the line but not on the line thanks to the throw.
 
I lost the final stage of the 2006 Vuelta a Cuba by celebrating too early. Borut Božič lunged by me on the right and then clapped me on the back and said, "I bet you'll never do that again!" lol

After such a tough climb to just give it away like that, Van Eetvelt will be kicking himself for a while.

Yup. I'm still haunted by the above--and that was 18 years ago in a modest 2.2 race!!
