Did the guy who did a full somersault and landed with his feet over the line get third or not is what I want to know ? He’s not carrying or pushing his bike and I believe he loses contact with it before he crosses over the line…

There was no shortage of photos of Rory Townsend's celebration, for example, but he knew to keep going until he had passed the line. Anyone who values the photo over the win doesn't deserve the latter.

Has to be 3rd, his bike crossed the line. Fabio Jakobsen won that Tour of Poland stage where he ended up not crossing the line and in a coma and only his bike got to the finish.

I thought the rider has to be accompanied with his bike to finish the race?

I suppose the rule is mostly so that a rider whose bike breaks just before the finish line won't leave it and start running.
The opposite; the bike getting across the line, but the rider doesn't, is... probably more rare. I don't think we're quite on that level of AI bikes yet; imagine if a rider crashes just before the finish and breaks their leg, and the bike just goes "SCREW YOU! I'm finishing."

Boasson Hagen crossed the line but his bike stopped a few centimetres short. He officially finished 27 seconds behind.
