He needs to use this anger as motivation over the final week.

I hope he gets so angry that he forget to look at his watt numbers, go totally bezerk and blow up :D :p

On a serious note - all he needs to do is follow Quintanas wheels. But it'll be interesting to see what he does if Quintana goes from far out, and Thomas/Porte isn't up to the task.

The further we go without anyone trying an early attack, the sooner we get to Froome winning it. Playing it safe until the last 5 KM is gift wrapping it to Froome.

It appears the fans don't have unconditional love for him, although that is just data point and we need to gather further evidence to make that judgement.

I know you try to be logical, but no, just no

Anyway, I think Froome would've dropped Quintana uphill, if given the chance, so I don't think he's still as strong as he was on PSM. He's still very hard to beat, but at least a little bit more normal.

May be just biased wishful thinking though.

Thomas and Porte are fundamentally up to the task they showed it in the Pyrenees on stage 10. With transitional stages to come and a rest day in Gap. There will be a resolute resolve from both to assist Froome up La Toussuire and Alpe D'Huez.

I imagine he'd just do what he often does - ride to his own tempo confident that he'll eventually reel Quintana back in. He even did it today at times; didn't feel the need to jump straight on the wheel, but just gradually rode back up to him.

I don't think Quintana can beat him tactically, the only way he'll gain time is if he can put out higher w/kg on the whole climb.

Even if Quintana can sustain higher w/kg in the Alps, with how far he is back, he needs to somehow draw Froome into a situation where Froome could blow up. I mean, if Froome loses a minute on two Alpine MTFs, ie if Quintana is a lot stronger and goes from far out, it still won't be enough. The prerequisite to stopping Froome from doing an MTT is to get rid of G and P as early as possible with Valverde still there.

I agree. This is key. Honestly it would probably take different teams working together, which, doesn't seem likely to happen. I don't often see teams working together even when they are all trying to unseat the same dude.

Chris Froome just said that someone threw a glass of urin at him and shouted "doping doping!" - that's just disgusting

That's just taking the piss

It's commonly known as a golden shower.

It goes well with the maillot jaune though.

It's how humans used to say "you're mine!" in the Bronze Age.

Another great performance by Team SKY today,
and great to see The Lion of the Savannah show
supreme respect for all the graft his team-mates
did by not giving an inch to teams that refuse to
ever ride at the front. Getting closer to Paris and
a possible third SKY win in four years. :)

Pretty pathetic to throw urine at the man, always people who take it too far.

He looked really good today

Definitely. Although I don't think the media coverage is wrong in any way (it would be poor journalism not to mention the debate going on), it's inevitable that there will always be morons around, who only see one nuance of things.

Froome should realize that anyone who would pee in a cup and throw it onto another person does not need the media to incite him into such action.

While it is possible a butt-hurt French person,
distraught at the humiliation of the third Tour
in four years being won by a British rider did
actually douse The Lion of the Savannah with
a cup of urine but perhaps it could also have
just been someone that took a sip from a cup
of Kronenbourg and, shocked by the 'taste', threw
the cup shouting 'This is piss, you dope!!' to his
mate that had used their beer money to buy it.
Unfortunately Froomey was unlucky to be riding
by at that moment and, not surprisingly, also
thought it tasted like piss. I hope that is really
what happened, because if it isn't, there is a
person somewhere with serious mental health
issues that isn't getting the treatment he/she
is in urgent need of.

If Froome is on a bad day he will TT like he did at the Vuelta , He won't even get involved in a stop/ start battle and waste energy.
Quintana somehow needs at least 1.30 ,2 minutes before the Alp's.
Right now Froome is to Strong.
Best hope IMO is someone going for a long one, Bertie looks to tired and Nibs his just to far behind so its got to be Valverde ,,,at least they should have a go FFS or this tour is over.
Maybe TJ will surprise us " wishfull thinking"

He will be under enormous pressure in the alps because obviously, nobody wants to be the guy who looses after he has a 3 minute lead. However the good thing about that is obviously that he has a 3 minutes lead. The most important thing is his team. If he is isolated on the Allos/Glandon/Croix de Fer he will loose time, maybe not even on quintana because he will mark him as good as possible but I think there is a possibility of another contender coming close to froome again if he is isolated. So maybe the tour isn't over for AC yet.

Sadly my spreadsheet crashed and was restored to before PSM. Still have the plots ofc, so can reconstruct to within 1-2 percent for each day, but that has discouraged me. Will resume tomorrow.

The markets think Quintana might have a chance yet..

If posters on this thread are really defending throwing a cup of urine on Froome then I think that's truly disgusting, shame on you.
The sport is so much worse for forum fans like this, disgusting!!!
