I wonder in what degree the new riders and Thomas can make up for Porte leaving. Porte was one of the most important reasons Froome could clobber like he did on PSM and A3x.

I hope Froomedawg gave Poels a bloody good present for that stage last year he dragged him back several times so he will do it again this year. Poels is already pissed off he wasnt Giro leader

Poels was good, but he's just not good enough to reel in the likes of Nibali and Valverde with a mocking smile on his face.

Out sprinting Quintana for bonus seconds is something every domestique should aim for

The anger by some when Porte did that to Quintana was pure comedy gold. :D

the thing is that fans are willing to hope for the best possible outcome and make up any dreamscenarions to reinforce their belief in something. if you really thought froome couldn't ride echelons, cobbles, descents and wasn't a racer and a leader, you already at the back of your mind prepared yourself to call his win a farce. the same relates to porte, who can probably do the only thing to please his haters - to quit cycling. i'm sure if nibali / aru or contador / majka won the stage like that, for many it could've been an absolutely okish situation :D

Look I would love Scarponi to win LBL by a minute and have Nibali sprint for second while drinking Green Tea but it just cannot happen :(

Majka blinking his eye on the climb while the other riders were completely wasted come close to what Porte did. ;)

A fresh Leopold Konig should be a big help, him, Nieve, Poels, Roche and G should be able to dish out a fair amount of pain.

Konig is riding the Giro so he is going to be as fresh as he was last year and that wasn't great as I recall
Poels is a very good climber but he is not always consistent so surprised by reports here that he wanted Giro lead ?

Thomas has to be as good as last year for Froome
Frankly I am surprised SKY will not have Landa in the Tour even if just for the last week....they need a Porte substitute and Landa is the nearest thing

Maybe SKY will be too ambitious and end up with no GT

Scarponi to win with his parrot on his shoulder crying "Franke we did it" :D

Gotta say and I am not sure why I cannot warm to Majka and his winking

The team whose dynamics I am interested in this year is BMC. Porte is very volitle and quite aggressive (but likable) Dennis is very volitle and aggressive (maybe not as likable) ,,,wonder will they clash
Also TJ wants to win the Tour as does Richie ....wonder how that pans out ...Porte hardly left SKY to play second fiddle

Landa will be number 2 in Sky, he has Giro for his own, and should be fresh on Vuelta. Froome will have very strong team even without Porte. I think Kwiatkowski will be very useful and G will be able to save more energy for the last km. Of course it not an easy thing to replace someone like Porte, but Riche was not such a crucial in 2015 like in 2013.

He will need to be at his very best at the tour if all the main contenders are in shape.
This will be a big year for his TT. The likes Of Aru will be very aggressive and then if Bertie is in shape, Froome is going to loose time in the Mountains and maybe even Quintana will be more aggressive and learnt for his very conservative tactics at last years tour and the could be a surprise contender as well . Now JV has his hands on Rolland he said there is more to come

Ok, Very good, a fully fit Froome won't worry about "bertie" or anyone else, it's almost like you've never seen Froome race a bike

Froome's last quality tt dates summer 2014. It's to be seen whether he simply can decide to increase or decrease his ability against the clock. Otherwise he might have a problem with Contador and maybe even Aru if they're well prepared for the cols!

Well durianrider kinda is a ****
This, I still don't like Richie, but at calling durianrider a **** almost counts as a redeeming quality. :D
Let just hope that this year we'll finally get a decent fight for gc and a close, exciting race at the Tour without one of the main players crashing out.
