Froome admitted that the stage was more difficult than he expected. "But good for our team, we won, it was a good start to the Czech Tour," he said. "It was definitely not just a sprint stage, it was not an easy day. Just trying to escape, also quite a hill up and down. It's good to be part of the team that won today. We have some guys who will be fighting for the overall win. We will do everything for it as a team," he promised.

For how long now he has always had a convenient injury or excuse just before a race that is a goal? When he last competed just with good legs? Tdf 2022? This time it's back problems

Remco goes into his big races and say 'I'm feeling really good, training went well, I can win with this shape'. He doesn't make excuse. Froome go to races and say 'the equipment is bad, I did a poor race program and didn't have right races to show myself, I have back problems, I haven't had chance to do hard miles on the legs, I have knee injury, i have illness, I have a bilharzia again'. Never just 'I feel good, I'm excited to do my best'

Maybe it's just a bad angle
