While Chris Froome likes to think everyone is stupid but him, he is the one looking stupid. You mean to tell me he did not know his fit measurements? That is one the most important things for a cyclist. And Israel did not have a fitter? Ridiculous. Is Froome too stupid to continue to ride with back pain that prevented him from being better. Laugh my ass off at him and anybody that believes his BS.

The bottles don't deliver themselves.:tearsofjoy:
I like the guy, I like his story and not saying that there are many parallels in the peloton but Froome would serve himself and everyone else a lot better by taking the expectations down and carrying water w dignity. Playing an important role for a team that in my opinion is a non factor and struggles to get into the selection at most races. Just a bunch of words and I am not expecting anything from Froome, and I realize he needs to be bold and brave to get a team and a contract..

Froome is not going to the Tour de France 2024.

Tbh I think he's known for a very long time he's past it & has been saying whatever just to feed the illusion & media interest a bit longer. But I suspect he didn't appreciate just how far he's dropped in performance.

Milking that 5 year deal for all it's worth is one thing, & yes, it would be much more passable "if" he could still feature to a certain extent (maybe top 30 in the bunch on a cat 2 climb). But as things stand he's struggling to show he's at a world tour level (or even just the level of a pro rider). In fact he really isn't, based on his latest outing.

We have no idea what's in his contract (& whether he has appearance guarantees throughout the season) but on current form & his downward trajectory, i.e. not only since 2019 but also severely over the past 12 months, he's going to struggle to make the IPT selection in any race next year.

What I think is unusual is how the media almost completely ignores him since he returned from his injury and not competetive anymore there is almost zero attention to the multi-GT and TDF winner. Even the British media is keeping him at arms length (please correct me if wrong) brits?

Is this some trolling attempt? English language cycling media has been all over him constantly for the past few years, with headlines as delusional as the man himself.

Honestly I have not noticed. I am not based in the UK. But in his great years there was a big spillover to the media sites I follow for cycling. In the last 3-4 years I see very little compared to someone of his achievements. But good to know he still is a big thing in the UK 🥳

cant say Ive noticed he's been covered that much in the UK media the past 4 years, theres the odd snippet or interview, but arguably cycling doesnt really get the press it did a decade ago any more imo.
