Please refrain from any Clinic talk in this particular section. There are plenty of threads open for discussion on this topic in the appropriate section of this site.

Thank you.

You will find that in many other sports there are sportsmen and sportswomen that are better than everyone else. Even in the history of cycling there has also been several other riders that have achieved results far above everyone else. Froome definitely isn't unique in that aspect.

Physiologically, Froome has a body that is ideal for an excellent climber that can TT very well. He isn't the best in TT - TT specialists beat him regularly, but Tony Martin was the only TT specialist in that stage in the TDF. Unfortunately for Froome, many people find his figure "ugly", comparing him to an alien or a praying mantis. Basically, he has very little fat and whatever muscles he have are mostly concentrated on his quadriceps. This optimizes his power to weight ratio and also keeps him aerodynamic. Also his long legs give him more torque.

This all sounds fine but it's also hard work, motivation and mental strength.

People don't get that Froome has 2 weeks to go, and he's going to blow up at some point in time. He's not pacing himself well for a 3-week racing. A spaniard will win the TdF this year, take your pick. Mine is Alejandro.

Froome is a rookie, he'll have the same fate as 2012 La Vuelta. Contador and Valverde are the smartest riders out there, and they'll come back for a 3rd week masacre.

Thank you for your comments! They are always amusing :D

Froome is such a dumb rider. If he is worried about crashing then why risk the entire tour when he could just take it easy and let Porte pace him in. Maybe lose 20 seconds then. He will take another 2 minutes tomorrow anyway so whats the big deal.

Froome is basically not smart. Wants to prove something though which may be his undoing.

Totally agree. When Wiggins started losing a few seconds on descents, everyone recognised he was just playing the percentages sensibly and it all worked out perfectly in the end - can't imagine in this case it would provide motivation for much bigger attacks.

He seems to be very poor at reading the race and making smart decisions. He relies too much on his "power.

Lol that has to be the weirdest statement ever, he as read everything fine so far look at the stage Movistar ripped his team up if he dint go with Valverde and Plaza in the valley then GAMEOVER. He as been very astute so far and afterall it was not his fault today that someone made him unclip what was wrong with chasing Contador?, with a tricky Alpe d'Huez(could be RAIN)I think he was spot on, why give Alberto any confidence as he looked better today although Froome still followed with ease I think AC will defo be second in GC. Like I said stage 9 he was spot on say what you like about Movistar but can you imagine riding 100 kms with no team and on the last time keep having proding jabs by Quintana chucked at you, he showed us all then how mentally strong he is, some would crack in that situation or not even followed in the first place and then relied on his team, then what would we all be saying lol:rolleyes:.

Froome hs been relying on his power. If his radio breaks then game over. Wiggins his head and shoulders above him in smarts...and I am not a Wiggins fan. I Like Berto being compared to a wolf. Hunt is on!
