gotta say chapeau to the guy. never afraid of attacking

Completely agree this is 1st time he done it with descent finish but tell me a race were he as never attacked on a MTF. He has the most heart aswell. Maybe he fakes it but look at TDF Wiggins looked like he was dropping CF then bang Froome recovers. Same with Veulta 12 he attacked the favs after it was clear every day he was losing time. I think one day he will get his props.

Froome V Contador. We will all have to wait and see. Froome good today, more like watching a training ride. Zero competition. Quite boring.

Hmm beware. Contador started out as ITT specialist. And at the height of his career he'd beaten Cancellara in a Tour ITT when Cancellara was at his best ITT years...

Just saying. Don't think Contador has to 'suffer' much to Froome in an ITT if Contador is really back to his old level.

Yes Contador has put in some very good performances in the past, I just don't see him getting close to Froome on a course that is almost perfect for Froome.

There's one thing though. We don't know how Contador at his prime performed in such a long flat ITT. We've no feats for that, tour 2010 doesn't count since the wind changed and that wasn't the best Contador.

We know Froome is amazing at it, i expect Contador to at least lose 1 minute.

Lool i see what you mean. :D
I would sell it for that, 2,18 is just about what to expect really, and it could even be more so I would sell it for that and hope he can gain some time elsewhere, which I believe he can.

contador will lose 1' at the very very very best. the question is if he's really good enough to beat froome on the mountain stages.

1 minute is far from enough, its pancake flat, here the freak clearly have the advantage, with a huge margin. I would guess it won´t be under 2 min and 2 minutes would be a very good result for AC.

I agree with this, Contador will need at least 2 minutes going into that final TT. It will be good to see Froome tested so he has to go full genius in the TT.

i think 2-3 mins will be a non compensable gap if froome is in ok conditions. 5 top finishes is rather his territory

btw tony said he had made a mistake that cost him around 5 sec so no surprises (messed up one turn). logically martin is a bit better than chris, but the tdf 13 rematch took place!:p

LaFlo.. you always pessimistic:p.. come on! True contador said himself that he was concerned about the ITT. But I think he won't be loosing that much though.

Besides who knows he might put more time to froome before the final ITT and all this what if would be not very relevance. (hey one can dream .. you know :D) Last year, even with contador's form sucks, his team managed to put 1 minute on Froome during the cross wind flat stage. And looking at sky's team now, with too many sick, crash, fatigue and their best lieutenant richie can't even finish his race, all around TS boys have a lot more stronger squad than them.. well, at least on paper.

I have to say, this whole thing make it so suspense. Last year we are all on the edge of hoping contador resurrection that's never materialized. This year is the opposite. He is showing a sign of life, but his ITT still debatable to the nausea. And on the other hand, sky went from dominating every race they enter in the past 2 years to shuffling team roaster due to illness, fatigue, and struggling to even complete a 8 man roaster. who said cycling is predictable? :D who knows contador might even surprise us by beating froome in itt. Then this thread will go banana..
