Good point. I was wondering about that too. One day they are working like hell for him and he was fine (for his injuries). But the next he is nowhere near that kind of form. And I don't think his injuries got magically worse over night.

But we will see at the Tour in what kind of pain he was: physical or mental?

The bolded

I am quite sure the two are inseparable..

Froome has had nothing but secces the past two years..

Now suddently he finds out he's not superman and it hurts both ways..

Froome has been on top for a short while, and he issues he has know are allready having significant effect on his performance and most importantly his "glow" No clinic reference but it was obvious to se that he was a marked man last weeks final stage...

If you compare to AC who was the greatest rider of the decade, and then had to face - months of uncertancy regarding the ban followed by a massive blow in the tour agaist Froome... What does he do: He does not put the abandon face on, he rides on and comes back "mentally stronger than ever" (not sure Froome can do this)...

The point beeing -froome may very well have been run too hard, and maybe does not have the "stomach" to suck up tribulation and learn from it like AC...

For me there is only two options..

1. Froome wins the tour without any real competetion
2. He will be lucky to get a top ten

I'll go with the latter (and face ridicule come july if needed) :)

Well look what Cancellara said in a recent interview:

"I lost some training days, so I’m not coming to the Tour de Suisse in the shape I was hoping for. The first 24 hours after the crash were okay, but the next day was really painful. I felt bad and in a lot of pain. I couldn’t go on the bike. So I went to Basel, to visit our head doctor, Andreas Goesele, just to be sure everything is alright."

I wonder if head doctor is Fabianese for psychiatrist or are you implying that Froome hit his head in the crash? Anyway I think it was a more psycological than physical thing with Froome in the dauphiné. Doesn't mean he's not the favourite for the Tour, but if he can't distance Contador in the first couple of mountains, I think he will panic and burn out. Contador has more fat than Froome, so will not have eroded his muscle tissue by week 3, and will therefore be the strongest of those two by then. At least thats my take.

If you can't understand what i meant i won't explain it for you. Read it carefully and you may find the solution.

And by reading carefully, the next sentence said: "So I went to Basel, to visit our head doctor, Andreas Goesele" That's why I asked if you think Froome hit his head!

If you really want the acid test on whether Froome is clean or not .....

I overheard someone a bike store on the weekend proclaiming to his friend that " ... Froome is every bit as good as Lance was, maybe better!"

That should settle it.

The muppets have spoken.

Froome, Porte, Nieve, Thomas, Kennaugh, Kiri, Lopez, Pate and Knees would be my guess.

I think Knees is a good chioce, was really good in 2012
I dont know about EBH,dont have a clue really, but I think he is better pick than Pate.
Sioutsou is out of a contention imo cuz he is not a rouler and he rode Giro this year.

Those 8 will almost surely start barring illness or Injury, the last spot is down to either Pate, Knees or Suitsou

Do you think Sioutsou is a good idea?
1.he rode giro
2.there won't be too many roulers in the team, that could be a disadvantage in stage 5 and defending jaune (maybe they dont calculate with it tho:p)

Probably not but those are the only guys left on the shortlist, I suppose someone like Eisel would have been a great addition but he is in the same situation having done the Giro. The only other riders left with a small chance are Dombro and Edmonson but I can't see them being picked.

With EBH moving on, will Sky want to give him the ranking points available at a big race such as the Tour?

What points are Hagen gonna pick up at the Tour? Besides, aren't the points split 50/50 between the team and the rider nowadays? Last, I don't really think Sky care that much about the points to be honest.
