A few weeks ago we had someone shamelessly insulting Gerrans' children, so I'm not surprised.

This is true, thankfully the morons who sink to this level are in the minority and are best ignored to focus on their own shortcomings.

The jokes about Froome's unborn child are symptomatic of a particularly sick mindset, we know who these idiots are and they are best ignored

maybe you shouldn't put so much of your self worth into the lives of your sporting heroes. That way you will get less butthurt when they get insulted on the internet.

I don't see the issues with making jokes about Froome's riding style and appearance on the bike, sheesh grow a pair, do I care about every single "the steaks are high" joke? NO of course not, it may get boring but it's completely harmless, yes jokes about children are in bad taste but don't make it seem like everyone who jokes about Froome and calls him alien, egg beater, washing machine etc would also call his baby unhuman or whatever

Well I have issues when it NOT funny and repetitive and boring ...As for Contador steak jokes ...there is credence to those allegations as we all know ...even though not very funny after the nth time..

And it is not harmless that every argument comes down to the way someone looks ... but of course your answer is grow a pair ...because you prove the point 'that insulting riders is credible argument on this forum and passes as jokes'

I think Contador has funny flat biggish feet and I think alot of the time looks lopsided on a bike....but I don;t use it in every argument I may have about contador racing in the Giro or Tour

Basially I am saying ...raise the level of debate if you can

Does it matter? Don't take it so seriously... about Contador's feet I don't think they are big :D but if you want to joke about them go ahead

Maybe there should be threads for people to repeatedly declare their undying love or hate for a rider and separate threads for discussion/analysis. I know a thread or two that would benefit from such separation.

Anyway, anyone else noticed how fat Froome is? What's up with that?

If you at least insulted Froome/SKY in a funny way it would be ok but it is NOT funny

and as fro putting ones life into Sporting heroes I don;t think anyone here is except maybe you in your mission in attacking SKY all the time and a few Contador obsessives

What you forgot to say is that you have issues when/if the subject is about Froome/Sky/Brailsford/motorhomes/Porte.

These issues are like your thing. Have you done anything else after you´ve got registred in March then whine and moan about Contador and supposed Contador-fans? You have even granted yourself the freedom of regarding "Sky/Froome/Motorhome/Brailsford"-criticism as "Contador fanboyism" in order to bash on the latter so no moral high ground there. You also dont see any problem with Clinic-related jokes about a non-Sky rider here in the regular forum when they have credence but would of course be the highest pitched screamer if the role was reversed.

You think Contador has funny feets? Oh no, the horror. Perhaps forums is nothing for you?

First of all I have never said anything about Sky/Froome/Motorhome/Brailsford
Secondly ...hard as it is to believe I am not a SKY fan .....but I do object to the relentless anti SKY posts so yes I argue against it because it is relentless and juvenile and boring....these posts push people to supporting SKY

I am not bashing Contador fanboyism as you say ...I am pointing it out and how its modis operandi to constantly name call ....which is a fact...but pointing this put is bashing in your eyes..because you and others think anyone who objects to your sentiments is against you ..... you cannot comprehend that difference

As for all of you tracking my time on the forum ....just goes to show how it must rankle that there is a voice that isn't in agreement with the clique ...

People call riders mutant , etc but its 'get a sense of humour'

I am bored already of the sh!te RV jokes.

Froome dominates: He is doping to the gills in his winnibago.
Froome gets crushed: He is crying into his Team Sky approved pillow.

Rinse and repeat. Bore off.
You should write to Sky and complain.

Que?

All I need now is the Sceptic to come in and say something about a TUE, and that master troll Ray W to come in and say something about Froome being an "egg beater" and all the Contador fans to tell him how funny he is, when he is about as funny as a dead leg.

You are writing against a bunch of people who love to hate
They call Chris Froome a mutant and his unborn child unhuman ???

Dare anyone to go over to Alberto Contadors thread and say this kinda sh*t...you would be bullied off the forum

As I have said before this is not reasoned debate on cycling...this is a load of smug rubbish from those whose only raison d'etre is SKY bashing

If Froome wins decisively they are not happy and if he does nothing they are not happy

The object of their hatred must be constantly active to feed their need to bang the same drum over and over

agree, and yet, if you try to ask why, well the reason is "sky/froome deserve it" because their narrative is so BS and they spin so much about the marginal gains
well, ok, I can't deny it
but does Froome deserve his son to be called unhuman, with people asking if he has 2 heads, etc?

AND in the meantime Oleg can blabber about whatever, sack his main DS, treaten Sagan to cut his wages, we know what Hamilton said about him, and yet we love Tinkoff and Alberto and people do not even dare to joke about some private things.
(yes I know, Michelle is a pain in the neck...)

really, you are right, imagine if someone will dare to joke about Alberto's son, when he'll have one. whoah. twitter will go bezerk

I repeat again,<snipped for doping comments>

Take your doping crap to the clinic where it belongs.

I feel the same way. I have no inherent bias for SKY or Froome, but the incessant ridicule and dehumanizing rhetoric makes me root for them in sympathy.

the only reasonable solution is probably to ban people bringing uncovered hatred to riders. that would reduce the audience in a way but the forum environment would be more sterilized and civilized. until this happens the forum will continue to produce new vulgarians.

Besides that... Froome was flying today but the team was so bad... He is going to kill it in the mountains.

Yes. Should be no problem to gain 30 seconds back on Nibali. But maybe I'm underestimating Vincenzo. I tend to do.

I must say, I had the sense that the Giro team were a bit all over the place and not very cohesive - not just in the TTT, but generally. I'm interested to see how they perform in the next few days. It's such a marked contrast to their previous modus operandi.

The Giro SKY team were very poor imo ....all over the show.....everyone complained about TCS team but at least they all worked very hard at the beginning of stages and especially in first week...SKY Giro team looked like they didn't know (or like ) each other

Yesterdays Dauphine team rode the TTT very poorly ....looks like no DSs watched the previous teams go out ....missing the whole point of the advantage of going last

I agree with you about the Giro team. It was really odd - as you say, almost like they didn't much like one another or really want to be there. Although TS weren't great, there was still the sense that they were united in the same mission even if they weren't that up to snuff in the mountains.

I didn't necessarily get the same feeling with Sky at the Dauphine TTT though, more than they hadn't really gelled or practiced much together. They kind of lacked the 'spidey sense' you get when you really understand your teammates.

Could be something related with the lack of leadership? would be interesting to have an insight about team Sky in Il Giro or now in the Dauphine

I think that the Dauphinine team to be more cohesive but they have a perhaps 3of riders who are not where they should be in terms of fitness, Poels who has been out for a while after LBL, Roche (not sure why) and possibly Stannard (though this may be that he just did a monster turn at start of TT), if Rowe had not had the mechanical then they could have ditched Roche.

The real question is will Poels and Roche be ready for the Tour and will Richie Porte be ready

G will be joining them at the tour, I don't think Boswell as he seemed like a late call up for this race.
