Well, expected outcome, I suppose.
Quick recovery and a pleasant off season I wish him. He deserved it after all the entertainment he presented throughout the season.

It's sad that the most exciting Double challenge in years had to be ended by injury. He looked very promising when he put everyone but Tom D to the sword.

It's called Peter Pan Syndrome. Oleg can be funny and sometimes even right, but he has the mental age of a 12 year old. His "who is the best rider of 2015" tweets are also cringeworthy.
Remarkable similarity with Contador's fans here (on the forum).

Looks like Froome has abandoned after a fracture to the foot.

Props to him for riding on yesterday. I'm the biggest anti Froome fan there is but he has shown some qualities this year even I can respect in him. I doubt he would've won yesterday but he would still be in contention except for the crash shame really as the more competition there is the better.

Yes, he gains even more respect for riding through one of the toughest GT stages in recent years with an injury like that, just in the hope that perhaps it's wasnt too serious and he can finish the race.

Totally agree. Yesterday I respected him for finishing and this AM upon finding out he did it with a fractured bone in his foot the level of respect increased. I'll never like the guy but I respect what he did yesterday.

Get well soon Dawg!

I was impressed by his gutsy ride yesterday, considering the profile

Give me flashback to 2012 when Froome guided Wiggins to victory. :D

Love how everyone feels it important to say how much they hate him before or after saying well done to him.

Valiant effort. He was my pick to take the overall in the end, even with the Tour in his legs. He'll be back just as strong next year.

I've noticed that too. Apparently, he is a pretty cool guy as long as he is not winning. He was also a good guy who did a great effort in 2014 because he couldn't drop Contador according to certain cycling fans. :D

Great effort yesterday to finish the stage. Mr Froome is a real MAN. I think he has won some fans these days.

No, winning or not I don't think he's a cool guy. I'd say things such as his descending in the Tour were great and yesterday he showed great heart and mental strength not to just give in. A true warrior. But, and this is the thing it doesn't make him cool or more likeable. I still don't support him and never would I just respect that he's got skills and strengths in him that can't help but be acknowledged. Hope that's a bit clearer.

One tries to play nice and give credit where it's due, and that's what you take away from it? Dramaqueen! :p

Also "everyone" apparently equates to one poster and me quoting him. But whatever, carry on ..

I count 4 people saying it, and 3 other people agreeing with it. It's okay though.

It's amazing that anyone would expect anything different from this guy...

The guy is a compete ego-maniac, cycling is better off without people like Tinkov. When it all boils down, he doesn't care about a sport unless he's gaining publicity.

Yeah. I don't like him much either and what he did yesterday isn't anything special as many other 'pros' have done the same and finished in much worse shape. What's relative is what he felt he could do. If he thinks that was a heroic effort, then great for him.

Guys like Robbie McEwan have crashed hard and and continued on to win full on sprints with cracked vertebrae...

oh no..this is sad news. anyways, GG chris froome! he fought thru stage. on the other hand: what was this vuelta-start supposed to be? stage wins? working for nieve? some PR brainfart? somebody here wrote his cool down starts on sept 3rd  !

What do you mean? Prior to his crash he was in a perfectly good position to challenge for the win at the Vuelta.

For any sponsor publicity is the goal, so in that respect, success. While I disagree with a lot of his opinions and methods, I'm glad he intersperses the insanity with reform, unlike Vino who seems to be 100% dbag.

If he still had a brewery I might try his beers, but I most certainly would not use his credit cards, or - - his proposed airline. If he took the opportunity to keep his mouth shut I wouldn't necessarily feel that way about his current businesses, so for him publicity does not work.
