Either there's some real internal war games or they're just playing external mind games. Or maybe a bit of both. They love their smoke screens.

I'll believe Froome is finished when they actually destroy him on a big mountain stage.

Like what they did a few times in the first part of the 2018 Giro?

I don't quite remember, they were talking about him abandoning right?

Anyway apart from a few crashes Sky/Ineos have been outrageously clutch with timings of good/bad days, so unless Froome drops 3 minutes or more in like the first 10 stages I doubt it's gonna mean much.

He is liability to his team now and won't be at TDF, unless he is willing to be domestic. End of story...

But in the Tour things will be more controlled. If Froome looses big amounts of time early on, he will definitely be riding for the two other riders in his team that are just as strong/stronger. In the Giro he was still their best option.

Would think the contracts about making the team aren't too uncommon. The 2nd one would be very hard to enforce.

I suppose the gray area's wider than normally is, but someone like me referring to the clause and trying to occupy a team spot and the team trying to deny someone like Bernal of taking it are fairly clean cuts.

So the Team INEOS tech director says Froomey can't win the Tour this year (partly) because he's too old but wee Bertie says the TopDawg can win it next year when he's a year older!

INEOS had the youngest winner in a very long time last year, wouldn't it be lovely if they had the oldest winner in a very long time this year? What a great result that would be.

First Thomas said Froome wasn't a threat in his podcast with Rowe and now this guy suggests pretty much the same, would seem he isn't back to former self, which ain't exactly surprising given the accident and getting older. Either that or the knives are out for him now he's leaving Ineos. Perhaps he's made some enemies along the way. Noticeable Froome's twitter hasn't been active for a month. I'd say all is not well in Froome camp. I wonder what ISN are thinking.

Would Froome not have it in his contract that a TDF place is guaranteed, if not leadership? I'd be astonished if he didn't.
Aye, but I imagine if you sign a multi year contract, that there are exceptions so the team isn't obligated to bring you. Leadership can't be guaranteed for years. Too many things could happen.

How could we have paid so much to a 35 year old coming back from injury with no racing im his legs.

I still don't understand how you offer a person coming off that serious of an injury a contract in the first place without seeing him race again that kind of contract.

Best of luck to Chris Froome, he's done very well to come back from the career-threatening injuries he sustained, in that unfortunate crash. Time will tell how he gets on.
