I think a transformation to a sprinter would be logical for himQuickstep could use a GC a GC rider.
Valverde can actually ride a bikeHe can always ride gravel though. Him and Valverde racing again each other again.
his career has been finished full stop years agoI know people like to take the p out of him, but the guy has had two major crashes that would finish most riders careers full stop.hi

Every Dawg has its day.I kind of miss those days of watching Froome Dawg sprawled all over his bike, staring at his power meter, and dishing out pain to his competition.

Two of those were team time trials, including the one in Rwanda where he finished 5 minutes behind his team.In the five years with the squad, he has finished in the top-20 of a race just six times.
Yeah, his Wiki results don’t clear 2018.Two of those were team time trials, including the one in Rwanda where he finished 5 minutes behind his team.
that maybe so in terms of results, but it seems incredibly churlish to criticise that aspect, given both crashes were life threatening, and there are plenty of riders who achieved great results, and then coasted through their latter years.
I was sympathetic when he had his big crash in 2019. But it’s getting long in the tooth now. He should just formally announce his retirement and put us out of his misery.
Personally, I found it a bit hard to take it seriously when he kept claiming he was back to his pre-2019 crash levels, even though it pretty obvious he wasn't.
And even if he was... well... don't think it would have helped him much.
Its just Froome could never keep up with that increase, whether thats because he hit his peak capability or his crash fundamentally dropped his peak not sure, but thats why he got left behind
To my mind, if you ever hear yourself saying that about Froome, it's probably a good time to check yourself.I suspect he was telling the truth
There's no chance Froome doesn't know how those gains were made, and I don't buy for a second he was ever back to his winning numbers. He's just been laughably off the back most of the time he was spouting that nonsense. Then the bike fit nonsense, then the seat height...fwiw, as we've heard from plenty retiring pros in the last few years how its now full gas from the start of stages and everyone's hitting sustained watt levels that would have been thought insane maybe a decade ago.

The simple answer which aligns perfectly with everything else we've see from Froome is that he's just a habitual liar.
