Preparation for Vuelta went well, they are going for top 10. He only needs to be a domestique for Kuss if Kuss would be the leader.

Because Kuss = Pogacar?Lets just hope Ayuso doesn't read this.
Because Kuss > Pogacar?
See above. Also somebody hid his suspenders the night before. Could not go to bed until he found them.Lost quite a lot of time today, haven't seen an interview with him yet so wonder what he thinks the reason might be
Yeah, but I want to hear an actual explanationSee above. Also somebody hid his suspenders the night before. Could not go to bed until he found them.
He started the hard part mid-pack and used a ton of energy to regain contact. That's when Gall and others upped the ante and he had to mind his numbers. There are many guys that need to ask why a 22 yo punk from Tucson Arizona is finishing in the front group, too. It's the last GT and the disparity between rested riders and unrested will get more obvious.Yeah, but I want to hear an actual explanation

He’s performing worse compared to last yearSeems to me like a guy who lived like a professional super early, maxed out his talent super early as a result, and then really wanted to believe hitting his ceiling had to do with being on the wrong team.
I know for a fact he didn't start training like a pro until, well, he was actually a pro. His usual amount of training hours whilst with Auto Eder were between 12 and 15 hours per week, a far cry from where it is now. I have no insights into his nutrition at that time, but his baby fat didn't scream early professional to me.Seems to me like a guy who lived like a professional super early, maxed out his talent super early as a result, and then really wanted to believe hitting his ceiling had to do with being on the wrong team.
Like all of Visma. Jorgenson excluded. He’s performing worse compared to last year

I honestly believe he could've been one of the 3-4 best climbers in this year's Giro. But yes, on the other hand I don't think he has the skillset to win a lot of races. But he'll probably be a steady GC-contender in years to come.I don't get all the hype around this dude but I guess it is because he is from Belgium. I know he is young but he isn't stellar in anything
His ceilling is a top5 in a GT, I can't see him doing better.I honestly believe he could've been one of the 3-4 best climbers in this year's Giro. But yes, on the other hand I don't think he has the skillset to win a lot of races. But he'll probably be a steady GC-contender in years to come.
It's because he finished 5th on Tourmalet and 7th on Angliru at Vuelta last year while being only 20 years old.I don't get all the hype around this dude but I guess it is because he is from Belgium. I know he is young but he isn't stellar in anything
Arguably Vingegaard was better, Kelderman isn't worse as well.Like all of Visma. Jorgenson excluded.
Even taking those things into account, you can't help but feel they are not at the same level they were last year.Arguably Vingegaard was better, Kelderman isn't worse as well.
It's just that most of Visma suffered from crashes/illnesses (Cian) etc. It's not like they are straight forward worse.
He was stellar at winning Tour de l'Avenir and he was stellar for a 20 year old GC rider in '23 in the WT. I think that might have to do more with it than him being from Belgium.I don't get all the hype around this dude but I guess it is because he is from Belgium. I mean, the stereotype of the typical Belgian rider already training like a pro as a junior exists for a reason. He did also win l'Avenir while already riding for a WT team, so maybe he has less margins to improve left than guys who rode on smaller teams in the u23 ranks/started lateHe was stellar at winning Tour de l'Avenir and he was stellar for a 20 year old GC rider in '23 in the WT. Uijtdebroeks stalling is kind of the outlier when you also have Evenepoel, De Lie, Van Gils, Van Eetvelt, Van Wilder and so on in the age brackets just above him though.I mean, the stereotype of the typical Belgian rider already training like a pro as a junior exists for a reason.
