Wow! CU upsets #17 TCU 45-42 in Deion Sander's coaching debut!

Deion's son, Shedeur, throws for a SCHOOL RECORD 510 yds & 4 TDs!

Coach Prime is 1-0 with the first opening game win against a top-20 opponent since 2002.

WOW! Two top 10 teams for a season opener! I was only able to watch, but not hear the first half and had the score not been along the bottom I would have sworn FSU was blowing LSU out...which they did in the second half.

Shout out to Coach Prime for a big win with a new team (new to him and new to each other).

On that note: the portal has completely changed college football (good, bad, or otherwise).

CU grad, born raised and still live in Boulder. Haven't had an interest to go to Folsom Field in more than a decade. Probably couldn't get a ticket now if I wanted to. Had to change my avatar to celebrate. Will change it back if the lose to Nebraska next week.

I am happy for you.. Glad you got a good result. From what I read earlier.. The offensive line was sort of questionable.. but seeing the big plays and both teams defensive efforts.. Colorado better hope that the defense at least shows up..

Yes...impressive win for CU. Shedeur Sanders has now thrown for 903 yds in just 2 games (breaks the all-time CU record for most passing yards in back to back games).

Texas gave #3 Bama a good old-fashioned whipping there in Tuscaloosa (costly loss as Bama will have to run the table & win the SEC championship game to make the playoffs). Is Longhorn football back? Mathew McConaughey, who spent the entire game on the sidelines cheering the Longhorns, certainly thinks so.

Unbelievable game last night in Boulder. CU had a huge 4th qtr comeback to win in 2 OTs. Game went well past midnight local time.

Sadly, this is one dirtiest games by one team that I've ever witness in my life. CSU totaled 187 yds in penalties with an unprecedented 10 personal foul calls! An egregious unneccessary roughness/late hit on CU two-way player Travis Hunter putting him in the hospital was down right disgusting! A targeting call on a head to head hit to Shedeur Sanders was inexcusable. Numerous personal fouls on "cut blocks" by CSU players trying to take out the knees of Buff's players. A very undisciplined CSU team in which the coaching staff should be ashamed for the unsportsmanlike conduct that plagued their team.

Nonetheless, CU persevered & comes out of non-conference play at 3-0. The big test will be next week when Buffs play at #10 Oregon.

I was enjoying the Prime era, but knew that they wouldn't go undefeated with their schedule.
I had Oregon as a slight favorite, but didn't image the absolute ars whoopin' that happened.
I have USC as a bigger favorite than Oregon so I hope that the result isn't similar.
AZ State showed that they can play too.
Oregon State and Washington State are really solid teams...UCLA, Utah, tough schedule for a team in a rebuild phase. I expect that they will improve as the season goes on, but so might the others.

Shocker in Eugene - I didn't think CU would lose that bad & be out of it by halftime. No running game for CU - 40 yds vs 299 for Oregon. And Shudeur Sanders was sacked 7 times by the tremendous pressure put on by the Oregon D. I don't think Travis Hunter would have made much of a difference.

CU needs better talent at the interior lines. They can't beat top Power-5 teams with a 2nd tier OL that produces a poor running game. And they need much better talent on defensive front 7 - virtually no pressure on Nix & they couldn't stop the run worth beans.

I think the Coach Prime "hype" has been deflated quite a bit with this loss. They have a tough schedule ahead of them with another test next week vs #8 USC. Then later on there's Oregon St, Wash St, & Utah - all currently ranked opponents..

They're going to have to play much better football just to get 7 wins & a bowl invitation.

Other news: #4 FLorida St knocks off Clemson on the road. With 2 losses, Clemson looks to be out of the playoff picture & Sweeney's future could be in jeopardy. FSU, OTOH, could be a surprise team to make the playoffs.

Shocking!

Tucker was the HC at CU for 1 yr (2019) before taking the job at Mich St where he became the 6th highest paid coach in FBS (95 mil). Shaking my head on this one.
It's not surprising. There were lots of stories/rumors here in Boulder about some questionable behavior with young ladies. Asked about every attractive one that served him in a bar or restaurant out on dates.

Welcome to the PAC 12 neighborhood where every ranking goes to die, including the PAC 12 teams that kill each other off and leave the SEC to dominate the "rankings".
Anyone notice Michael Penix....he plays for Washington? Not likely because the games are late and East Coast pollsters go to bed early if there's bad news from the West.
He's been scorching opponents backfields with the help of a powerful receiver flotilla. Not as many passing yards as Sanders? He plays around 3-quarters because there's no need to run up the score. UW defense is brutal, too. Why they are not in the top 4 is testimony to East Coast prejudice. Along with USC, Oregon and WSU....

The team is good but this week it looked like all of the Top Teams had to work harder to stay unbeaten. The more tape on your team the better the opponents plan to wreck the party. That's the PAC 12 way as they deepen the conference play. I couldn't see either Washington team play yesterday. Which one do you pick for losing first?
Who will lose first, Oregon or USC?

Oregon plays a higher ranked Washington next. That’s a pick em, so I think the Ducks could very well lose to the Huskies. The Trojans get Arizona, who was crushed by Oregon yesterday. Then they get a Notre Dame. Given how sketchy the USC defense is, Notre Dame may be the favorites in that one.

Overall, the PAC-12 is very good this season. What a pity it may get dissolved in the future with so many teams leaving.

CU-USC game: An explosive offensive game with poor defense play by both teams. I was surprised that CU was able to get back into the game & almost tie it there at the end.

Not impressed with Caleb Williams...this is the next year's projected #1 OA pick??? Most of his completions were to wide open receivers & when he's under pressure, he doesn't look all that efficient (his first pick of the season was when he was under pressure & just threw it up for grabs). Sure, he's got a quick release & throws a nice ball that's easy to catch - but I didn't see anything spectacular (I guess I have very high expectations for projected #1 OA players). From what I've seen of Penix Jr, I think he's better than Williams. Good game from Brenden Rice - Jerry's son (5 catches, 80 yds & 2 TDs)

Very tough PAC-12 division this year. 3 powerhouse teams in Oregon, Utah & Washington. The conference champion will be one of these teams, and I believe the conference champ will have to be undefeated to get a shot at the playoffs.

Add to that Washington State....and a very strong likelihood that if any of them have a weak game, not necessarily a losing game; no Pac 12 team will be in the top 4 displacing a SEC team with a loss. Or Michigan. Or Ohio State.

No way would an undefeated & Pac-12 champion Wash, Wash St, Oregon, USC or Utah be displaced by a one loss SEC or Big 10 team. Those 5 ranked teams all play each other this season with #7 Wash in a huge game with #9 Oregon this weekend. Then Wash plays #8 USC, #18 Utah & #13 Wash St later in the season. If the Huskies win these games plus the conference championship - I guarantee the CFP committee will rank them higher than any one loss team.

And because Texas (beat Bama in Tuscaloosa!) & Florida St (beat LSU & Clemson) are 2 new schools in legitimate contention for a playoff spot this season, there's a possibility no one-loss team makes the playoffs this year. Georgia, Texas, Florida St & Ohio St or Michigan could run the table (Texas & Florida St have fairly easy schedules in weaker conferences, Georgia looks solid again this year, and Michigan & Ohio St play each other with the winner likely to go undefeated). Factor in an undefeated Pac-12 champ - and this could be a nightmare for the committee to select the best 4 teams.
