they were also invited at the giro presentation. there is even a chance of coldeportes getting invited for all 3 gt's next year. the tour and vuelta chances are especially very high I think

Really? Awesome! :D

I could definitely see them as big animators of the races. Would really love to see them at the Giro especially, they won't be afraid to attack Wiggo and Sky ;).

As we're at the end of the year I guess we can say that they got a difficult start of 2012 but then it just got better and better with a promising 2013 ahead.

Would love to see them in the grand tours next year, although i'm not sure if they have the strength in depth to ride all three.

It would be great if they could sign Quintana, Henao, Uran, Betancur, Ospina and Rubiano to form a Colombian superteam!

they are under discussion in colombia for not signing argiro ospina that was finally taken by movistar world tour. colombia tried to sign argiro for their satellite team colombia claro and that was may be too conservative strategy.
colombian fans are not happy that coldeportes is not trying to keep the best colombian hopes under the national colors.

it is also been said that unzue decided to take ospina after the recommendations of uran ( that was with unzue before going to sky) and henao.
the three will live together in pamplona,. the antioquia connection

Colombian riders are one of the hopes to break monotony in some big Tours.
It could be like when the arrived at the Tour in 1983, and they caused a revolution during the 80s in big Tours ( with Patrocinio Jimenez, Cabrera, Corredor,Agudelo......and especially Parra and Herrera)

I doubt we'll see those guys moving to coldeportes any time soon, with the talent they have they need to, and probably want to, be riding in the world tour (especially Uran, Henao, and Quintana). To get them Coldeportes will have to get to world tour status and if they do get a invite to the grand tours next year it will be a big step forward in achieving world tour level.

If Saxo-Bank is out of the World Tour in 2013, I'm afraid we'll not have Coldeportes in any grand tour again in 2013... in the Giro: Farnese, Androni, Colnago and Saxo; in the Tour: Saxo, Europcar, Saur and Cofidis; maybe in the Vuelta: Saxo, Caja Rural, Cofidis and ¿Europcar? ¿Andalucia?
**** Off World Tour

Without Coppel I doubt Sojasun get an invite. Vini Fantini wouldn't be a sure thing for the Giro either, given that they overlocked a stronger A&S lineup for NetApp.

Also remember ASO might give 5 or 6 wildcards if they get the team size change through.

for the giro if Contador is not riding i wouldn't be so sure they'll invite Saxo. And Colnago will be without Pozzovivo and Brambilla, so they are not a lock either.

Vini-Selle Italia has Rabottini, with a very good Giro this year, plus Gatto, and their new riders Santambrogio, and maybe Garzelli and Napolitano (and also has Selle Italia as sponsor); Colnago is not so good for 2013, but it is Colnago and italian... and Saxo has Kreuziger and many other good riders. I know Coldeportes is one of the better teams for a grand tour like the Giro, but...

In the Tour, I think Saur will be at the start, because they are french, and also have a similar team than this year...

So...in my oppinion, VERY BAD NEWS for a very good and combative team, with very PROMISING riders.

No way will Vini Fantini not be invited. With no Pozzovivo, Colnago may well not get a wild card. I can see Coldeportes at the Giro.

Just off the top of my head I think the wildcard teams could likely be this (assuming Saxo doesn't get a WT licence).

Giro: Farnese Vini, Androni Giocattoli, Saxo, Coldeportes
Farnese Vini and Androni will definitely get invites after their success at this years Giro, Saxo I think can get a invite here thanks to Kreuziger. The Giro I think will be Coldeportes best chance for a GT invite, especially with Colnago no longer having Pozzovivo.

Tour: Europecar, Saxo, Saur-Sojasun, Cofidis
Not sure Coldeportes can get an invite here, Europecar, Saxo, and Cofidis definitely will get invites. I think Saur-Sojasun could get the final invite over Coldeportes just because they are a French team.

Vuelta: Cofidis, Caja Rural, saxo, andalucia/Coldeportes
Hard to call this one, Cofidis and Caja Rural will definitely get invites. If Contador says he wants to go for the Vuelta win after the Tour then I think Saxo will get a invite or they might just get a invite because they are the team of Contador. Coldeportes could definitely be competitive here but Andalucia being spanish goes against their chances of a invite. This is the GT where I could see a Coldeportes not getting a invite because of Saxo not getting into the WT.

Did ASO say they might do that? Kind of counterproductive to reducing teams to 8 riders.

Team Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela has already got a invitation to the Giro d´Italia 2013 because that they for the third year in a row have won the Champione d´Italia.

the tour will have 22 teams. no more, also with just 8 riders

still saxo won't be invited to the giro without contador. nobody cares about kreuziger

I think Saxo could get a invite based on what they would bring to the race. Saxo could bring more to the race then other possible wildcard teams like Netapp, or Colnago.

I agree that Kreuziger is overrated as a GC contender but he was still able to win a stage of this years Giro.
