He still won one of the best races of the season. Admittedly it was a while ago.

He has been out since his TDF crash. I think it was announced about a month ago that he wouldn't race. I doubt Cav would win anyway as these don't generally come down to pure sprints.

He was never going to be recovered in time for this. He's back on the bike in training but he said in an interview before the race that he still can't lift his daughter up. So yeah, not fully recovered, he's been in the team car from the start.

I do like seeing them rip through Glasgow though. Sometimes forget how hilly Weege is in parts, obviously no real long climbs but they've done a good job with this one considering it's been kept entirely in the city. Would have been interesting to see what they could have come up with if it went up into the Trossachs National Park area, but they'd not have had the same fan turnout, obviously.
