And what, pray tell, happened in 2006 that he was supposed to take responsibility for?

EDIT: I'm not asking a question I can't answer; I'm giving you an opportunity to pull your foot out of your mouth (proverbially speaking).

Thanks friend!

If I answer that, I get accused of making it a doping discussion.

Let's just say, I disagree strongly with the notion that he was robbed.

You were simply wrong. The incident you seem to be referring to occurred at the 2007 Tour de France NOT the 2006 Tour de France. His team was not allowed to race because of at least five riders were implicated in Operation Puerto.

My post count has a direct correlation to the amount of long, boring conference calls I have.

Ok, you're making me do this.

You are right, I had the wrong year, then realised it didn't really matter. He was doped as a race horse in 07, and considereing the team problem in 06, there's no reason to think he was clean then.

Remember when Astana was denied the Tour in 08 it was because the French noted that change in ownership in the team hadn't proved to be enough. Astana had turned out to be just as bad as Liberty Seguros so another year of staying clean was needed.

Vino would be wise to quit reminding us of those facts. At no time was he robbed. He brought it on himself.

Luckily I am not in that business, but I have a bunch of them who work for me. If I was it would have been a problem figuring out how to account for the 5 hour ride I did today :D

It did matter. You were wrong, you could have just acknowledged it and moved on. Instead you serve up more drivel to try and rescue whatever point you thought you had. EPIC FAIL.

martinelli talks to el pais about berto’s uniqueness

http://translate.google.com/transla...0201elpepidep_22/Tes&sl=es&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8

A very informative piece.

What I like about Albert is his humility
Johan Bruyneel, his former director, outlined his stubbornness, extreme perseverance. Inigo San Millan, one of the Garmin team physiologists, also surprised, back in 2003 when working at ONCE

And his coach in recent years, Pepe Martí, one of the people who know you best, you wonder how we know Contador himself, how he interprets the signals from your body. Know very well handle the information given, regulated," says Marti, who speaks daily with Contador, sometimes three calls a day. "For example, in the time trial in Annecy, in the Tour, he had calculated that to beat Cancellara and taking into account Beijing's experiences and Monaco, should go through the top of the slope with 46-second lead over the Swiss. He told me before the start: if I pass with 46 seconds won. spent with exactly 46 seconds and won by three seconds. "

TdF 2010

Contador proved himself and his maturity in 2009 TdF when under immense pressure from within his own team. He handled it all with consummate good sense. He also has little to say about LAs constant barrage of intimidation supported less frequently by lapdog Bruyneel. The Schlecks, Wiggins and others may also be a threat too for the yellow jersey by the time they arrive on the last climb of the tour. Frankly speaking, without a TTT this edition, Contador can cut his own pathway through the tour even if Astana prove to have shortcomings as a team in the mountains. Then again, they may surprise us all and give the other contending teams a good run for their money - this would be in the interest of everyone watching the great spectacle. There is plenty of viable talent this year - let us hope no one is injured or ill to spoil the competition we all hope to see.

Where can one find Alberto's schedule?

Maybe when Astana gets those pesky radios installed they can put put up a website.

I see you are throwing out more bait hoping someone will engage.

EDIT: I've done the math: Between Jan-Mar Armstrong is racing 1,980.6 KM. During the same period, AC is racing approximately 3,000 (using 2009 data for one race where the route is not posted).

Are you including the breakfast ride in South Africa in Armstrong's numbers? That extra bit might make the difference in July.

No, only counting actual racing. Tweet Rides don't count.

I think someone provided you with a link to google, and that's really all you need. But I'm still not clear why you need it. It hasn't changed since he announced it, unlike Armstrong.

Haven't got the foggiest what Jan to March has to do with anything.

I was just looking to compare the two schedules.

Lance is racing 7 time before the tour, not including small races he might do in the US or the Africa thing. 4 of those are classics.

I only find 5 races for Alberto but that's from a fan site as Astana has no official site of it's own.

I actually found an article from mid Jan that said he was considering the tour of California. If that one happens I'm CERTAIN to go.

Has a rider even been given a non-appearance fee? If Contador announces he will ride the Tour of California, I could almost imagine Team Lance paying him to stay away.

If AC does the ToC, I guarantee you Lance will withdraw.

I would take a bet on it. You could pay me in person. :D

I only found reference to it in one story from 3 weeks ago. I don't place a lot of faith in it.

But it would be coo!

Six months ago, Benjamin Noval’s situation had nothing to do with the happy moments that he treasures these days. To Noval, it felt like a kick in the gut that Bruyneel did not take him to the Tour and he hit the ceiling, with good reason. “I’ll never stay on a team with Bruyneel on it, there are no words. I can’t be around a person who treats me like that after six years together,” he said then.

Benjamin Noval was sure that the criteria for the decision were not based on sport. “They’ve always told me that I was going to ride the Tour, but in three days, everything’s changed. It’s clear that they did it to weaken Alberto and benefit Armstrong,” he spat. Now things have changed and it seems that he’ll be back to put things right.

I disagree (surprised?). Lance will be at the ToC in support of Leipheimer and to appease his sponsor regardless if AC shows up or not. Though I'm sure Lance would rather he not...

Not really surprised. I think Specialized and the ToC would love it if AC showed up, actually. It would be a boon for both of them--and me personally (could see him in person). And it would absolutely unnerve Mr. Armstrong.

I'm all for it. Perhaps we can start a draft Contador ToC campaign. ;)
