Contador and Spanish cycling

Of course, this could all be a tactical move. He might fear that Lance will eventually talk, and if so he's screwed.

In fact having been based at Gerona for so many of the 'triumphant' seasons, means that perhaps the whole establishment of Spanish cycling dreads what damning revelations, not only about cycling, but all of Spanish sport, LA might tell.

This could explain the completely insulting and idiotic comments coming from the Spanish Armada today. I find it difficult to believe that they could all either be so completely ****ing stupid, or so ill advised.

Yeah it's hilarious and kinda sad

It is sad that people cheer for a doper. A cheat. A fraud to fan and the sport.

It is hilarious that people ignore this integral part of a persons moral makeup and celebrate the person doping.

What Alberto said is true, every word of it.

LIE

It is untrue that 'there is no new test' - read the ****ing section on Armstrong's blood profiles from 2009-2010. You know, that year when he was riding around with the Armstrong.

Contador again comes out to bootlick Armstrong and the doping culture. I have been a big fan of Spanish cycling over the years, from Heras to Mayo to Contador, but I am disgusted with them and Spanish sports in general. I've defended and praised Contador here, time and time again. No longer.

They've all shown themselves to be complete frauds, fully invested in the culture of doping and omerta.

I agree wholeheartedly. F U Contador.

Any rider who still defends and supports Armstrong, the greatest fraud in sports history, adds to the problem.

Contador, a convicted dope cheat, supports Armstrong for a very clear reason. The guy is afraid of what could come out of the investigation, as mikeemus and Benotti have noted. He was on the same team as Armstrong and used Pepe Marti.

Virtually nothing Contador said is true. As USADA mentioned, evidence was still coming in this summer and fall. The affidavits are new. Ashenden's comments about Lance's likely doping practices in 2009 and 2010 are new. Armstrong's involvement with Ferrari went beyond 2005.

Lance hasn't even come close to being humiliated to the level he deserves. His defenders, like Contador, deserve the same humiliation. They're the type of people who reinforce the barrier that keeps clean cyclists like Mercier out of the sport.

You've nailed it Moose. There is a large contigent of current riders that are as much of a problem as the UCI.

Those hoping for change will wait in vain. Always was a circu$ and always will be a circu$.

And a big F U to Armstrong and american cycling for having created the biggest fraud known to man in sports.

No one, except a few mono cell beings, disagrees, but a big F U to Contador for not calling him it either!

Hear hear.

It is true. Of course what Contador doesnt mention is that lance deserved it, but its true that Lance has been betrayed and left for dead by many of his partners in crime and friends.

No, being lynched usually means being strung up for no other reason than having the wrong skin color.

As far as being betrayed is concerned, who is the greater betrayer here: the one who enforced omertà, or the ones who broke it?

Is Dertie worrying that people might come looking at Puerto, LSW, Discovery and Astana mk 2. That and he is no different in terms of his dependence on dope at the Uniballer.

To dislike Armstrong for doping while liking Contador in any regard is a rare cycling hipocrisy.

Quote from BBC
'But Contador, who rode alongside Armstrong in the Astana team in 2009, said the 41-year-old had left a lasting legacy in the sport and criticised the Usada report's reliance on testimonies from former team-mates and team officials.
"Right now people are talking about Lance but there has not been any new test or anything," Contador added.'
He's sure left a legacy alright! What is is with these people that say sure he was doping but no-one caught him with a test! It doesn't matter C*ntador got caught in a test and it still took the UCI (Yes the UCI amazingly!) to appeal a decision to let him off by Spanish authorities. He ate the only cow in Europe apparently injected by steroids. Why wasn't there outrage from Spanish farmer's if it had been anyone else suggesting that their cattle was unfit to eat... anyway blah blah..
