yes sure is, everyone seems to forget Lefevere was deeply interested in Contador before the latter went to Saxo...

Now Lefevere can offer him a great GT team in support : Leip, Martin, Velits...+ money from the czech banker...

A few others including el pistolero have mentioned this before, but its actually a lot more likely than people think. It all comes down to the specialized contract. If they stay behind him, then he only has 3 choices; Astana, Saxo, and OPQS. Since it is unclear if Saxo has the money, that leaves Astana and OPQS. It seems like Contador, if he had his way, would stay at Saxo. I feel like he gets along really well with Riis, which is more important to him than having a supersquad given his past experiences.

My dream scenario however, is for Conti to return home to spain. I'm not talking about Movistar either. He needs to reunite the spanish inquisition with Samu at Euskaltel. Ya, I know its not very logical, and it won't happen. But a man can dream, right?

Yes i forgot about the Specialized deal so one more reason for OPQS...

Oherwise a union between Sanchez & Contador would be great indeed but hopefully they will be better armed for the future TTT

There is going to be a long *** ttt in the 2013 Tour so it would suit Contador, though personally I hope Contador loses a few minutes there and creams everyone elsewhere to make the disgusting event irrelevant, at least for gc.

I think and hope he stays with Saxo. Riis deserves some loyalty from Contador for sticking with him.

According to the chairman of the danish anti doping commitee, Contador cannot be sanctioned with rules that were implemented AFTER his positive tests from 2010, thus giving Riis the points from the Vuelta, if Contador rides it after his suspension is over and done with

Why does it count for valverde though when he was sanctioned in may 2010??

Why even bother with the other 20 stages.

Presumably theyd have the time loss limits in place.

Can't remember what they were but if they made the difference between 1st and last place a maximum of 30 seconds (so long as teams don't finish outside a time limit), then I suppose a 60k team effort could have its place in a gt.

Because we're talking about the UCI. ;)
They made up an arbitrary rule, and Movistar haven't challenged that rule so far. Either because they think they don't need the points (they have a pretty good team even without Valverde), or because they haven't noticed until now (which I find hard believing).

Sadly, a mountanious part will be concentrated around the Alps, which will probably include 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 MTF's. There are no proper MTFs, barring Alpe-d'Huez.

Says who? There were rumors about a Col de la Madeleine MTF..... seems "proper" enough to me.

He'll sign a whole lot if you just want his autograph:D.
I think he'll go to Saxo for the remaining months of 2012, and then i think it's between Saxo(old team, gets along with Riis) Movistar(biggest Spanish team, Astana (old team, ridicilous money) and OPQS(have shown interest before, great support, big money, specialized)

Ever odder that his offence was even earlier, in 2006, as well.

This...pay back Riis with a Vuelta win then move on to a team that give him strong support especially for TTT. I'd love to see him on OPQS :)

Absolutely not. OPQS should pick up Sagan, pack Levi's bags and wish him good luck somewhere else, and do what they're supposed to do: dominate the classics. There are enough teams dedicated to the GTs already. That's not what OPQS is for-except the occasional stage win.

When's Sagan's contract up? Apparently Lefevre considered signing him a couple of years ago, but thought it was too risky. Obviously he realises his mistake now.

I'm not sure, but contracts are made to be broken . Boonen's USPS contract didn't make Lefevere (sorry about all the missing accents) hesitate when Tom wanted to relocate.

Could some one explain to me why Contador won't be worth any points for the following season. If he comes back in August, do any of the points he might pick up not count?

Simple. The rules state that if a rider is sanctioned for doping, there is the suspension penalty that must be met. Then, the rider is worth no points to any team that picks him up, for the two years following his return. Valverde is now in the midst of one of these ridiculous and vindictive, pointless zones. Even though he is still allowed to score World Tour points, which he recently led, ironically, and absurdly enough.
