Contador offered $12M/year

eldiariomontanes.es/October 31, 2009 - David de la Fuente is waiting expectantly, like almost all cycling fans, to see what decision Alberto Contador makes next week. Contador will decide whether or not he will stay with Astana in 2010, even though he has already hinted that it’s likely that the Kazakhs are counting on the best cyclist around for one more year

This thread has taken a turn for the gay.

i was thinking that, but after skirting with possible racist undertones over my slimy spanish/italian waiters comment, i decided homophobia was probably best avoided..

In other words if astana license is pulled he goes to quickstep or caisse if not he stays with astana.
no. for all intents and purposes fran is quoted by as.com that the destination is astana for one more year. Contador will be back in madrid tomorrow and according to fran will have to approve the agreements reached with astana.

That was the impression I got from Google Translate. Astana unless the UCI pulls their license. Btw, has Astana had any new team signings? I recall a list of possibles floating around, but only recall maybe one or two actually announced signings.

Hog: site or link for the first story please, and cut the amount of text you quote.

Thanks.

Susan,

is the reason for cutting the quotes for copyright purposes or just to conserve server space (which seems like the least likely culprit for space consumption) ?

I find the included text convenient.

What are the odds that they will actually pay Contador that money? Given that they could not even pay the support staff this year, I find it doubtful. But....if they pay Contador the money up front, I say Contador take the cash and relax the rest of his life.

I can't see AC extending his contract with Astana at all. Management seems wholly unprofessional.

it helps clarify the source, from a copyright point of view i assume it credits the source, it also makes sure things on here are vaguely accurate..

i assume copying and pasting without the source being shown is similar to cycling news just stealing a news article from another site and passing it of as their own..

interesting the hog decided to remove the entire quote... maybe there wasnt a source..

i think probably you dont understand

to me, slimey, is the sort of greasy, sneaky, usually and sadly, but unracist, spanish or italian, slick hair, snappy suit, the kind of guy who works in a bar and tries to impresse your girlfreind by talking crap in a sexy foreign language, and smarm his way into her affections..

will smarm his way over to her as you are leaving a restaurant, come out with some smarmy greasy one liner and hand her a rose, and she goes home dreaming of how wonderful and romantic he is, when you're the one paying for dinner..

slimey like a snake, untrustworthy, greasy, unpleasant..

ugh...

WTF does the above description have to do w/Spaniards and/or Italians? Want to see "slimy"? Take a look at most of the white trash that follows NASCAR and, especially, all the lower variants of car racing/crashing that go on in the US of A.

Talk about "greaseballs," I too, can generalize with the best of them.

He looks like a Benatton ad... EXACTLY.. slimey...

His smile makes me think.. you come anywhere near me with your sexy accent and your flowers and i will punch your lights out..

You wont change my mind.. clearly we have very different views on what is fashionable, what is popular, and what is just downright greasy..

You are obviously not going to solve your issues here.

Might I suggest professional help? That is, if your insurance covers it.

Copyright reasons.

Yes, it is convenient, but it is acceptable to use a live link, so that others can read the entire article, plus the originating website gets its hits for its story.

Stop it. Return to the topic and stop discussing user personaliites.

And yet it's fine for the other poster to tarnish whole nations with his madcap generalizations? So how about you show some fairness in moderation?

BTW I am not a kid for this "stop it" business. Ban away if you can't deal with me as an adult.

Act like an adult and you will be treated as one.

What in the world are you talking about?

Here, I'll clear it up for you:

1-There is a poster here making clearly bigoted and uninformed comments about Spaniards and Italians.

2-An adult -- me, in case you missed it -- comes in and calls him on his vile with a counter example of broad-brushing.

3-You prance into the thread and scold the adult.

Great job!
