Glad some one can read between the lines, because I couldn't until I saw this. This is perfectly logical to me. Any one with some science knowledge know if this is possible?
possible ? well a meteor slamming into your house is possible any one with a science knowledge can say that. is it probable ? no. the same false logic applies to clenbuterol and blood transfusions. it only reveals that squares understands very little about clinical testing, clenbuterol therapeutic doses (micrograms !), dilution factors and metabolic rates.

It is possible, but could they be so stupid?

Clearly the Astana transfusion team is not nearly as good as the Bruyneel team. Remember, AC won the Giro, Vuelta, and Tour with JB in charge.

Then, JB leaves Astana and they have to put a new group together and they let the guy that kept track of Vino's blood in 2007 was given the job. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!

I have to agree with TFF. The thought of this being contamination is almost impossible to believe considering his preparation and strict diet and privately prepared meals due to allergies, being a champion level rider and such.

Also, it may be a micro amount, but he was over the limit on something that is on the banned list. That means, presuming CAS ultimately determines all protocols were performed properly, he should be suspended, just like anyone else. The fact he is a big name should have nothing to do with it.

Not that this means I trust the UCI to do the right thing, or RFEC for that matter.

Shhh, don't anyone let TFF know CN is actually based in Bath, England.

Australia/England, to an ugly American, its all the same...:D

That is hilarious. I have the picture in my mind of Floyd guarding the fridge.

Just a quick question. Did/Does anyone think Contador is/was clean? Just curious.
no. But lack of positive tests carried some influence with me.

So Python, what were the levels in the blood test? And what is the typical Cmax following a standard therapeutic dose? What is the T1/2 of clenbuterol, and what is the clearance route for Clenbuterol? Is it metabolized in packed/stored blood or is it cleared by the kidney or liver?

Clearly, you know so much, can you please post all of this information so we can partake of your vast scientific/pharmacokinetic expertise?

Also, can you please post your CV so we can understand how much relevant experience you have in clinical testing?

And so do you. You are nooooo different to the LA fanboys when defending AC. Unbelievable. Officially, lance has not failed a test and AC has. Though obviously lance did cheat.

Please go change your underpants. You've clearly peed in them.

This thread has been highly entertaining. Gives the clinic a nice variety.

My favorite moments so far:

-ACF's claim of breaking the news down under. LMAO!!
-the thought that Riis is the biggest loser in this
-sorting out those who's opin's change regArding doping because it's contador

You apparently do not realize that AC's "coach" is Pepe Marti who for 8 years ran the blood bags and needles for The Hog. He stayed at Astana when the Hog went to RadioSchack because the Hog wanted to put more money in his pocket.

No. I'm more surprised it took this long.

I'll go along with the transfusion theory too. Probably gave up some blood when he was on this stuff and forgot about it.

Would seem to be stupid to take it during the TDF.

For those who missed class, Pepe is featured in L2L. The soigner that Emma said didn't know that much about training, but he was an expert with needles.

a few thoughts:

-- if contaminated food is AC's best defense he's in serious trouble.

-- this looks good for landis and lemond and AS but not mcquaid or lance.

-- riis is hosed. there just went his team and maybe his financial backing.

Not that I believe the whole food contamination thing but what does it matter who your chef is if the meat you buy has the stuff in it? Are they going to test every food product they feed him?

And wouldn't privately prepared meals be a convenient excuse why others on the team didn't test positive?

Yep. Honestly, I find the news that Contador has tested positive to be quite possibly the least surprising news I have ever read in cycling.

Yes, but Isn`t it just GREAT?? :D
