I came across one of my favourite old rider names when looking at the starting list for Mallorco tomorrow.

DS for Cofidis is Gorka Gerrikagoitia.

I always loved how that name sounds when spoken.

Looking through random startlists, and I think this guy is in the competition for "Most Impossibly French Name"

Henri-François Renard-Haquin (procyclingstats.com)

What about...

I don't know her age, but I doubt she's old old.

She seems to be a bit less young on PCS:

This name in the results of the Cadel Evans race for women caught my attention:

I don't know if this is a South African thing but I've never seen a last name in parentheses.

She got married late last year, and this is the name she uses on her Instagram, but I doubt it's the legal one. I think she has taken her husband's name (Pienaar), but Le Court is still the one registered with the UCI.

I see she is a former champion of Mauritius. So what does the Mauritius champion's jersey look like? Is it a rainbow jersey with the black stripe removed and the red and blue stripes swapping places?

Here's her and Vera Looser in their MTB kits.

Monaco is Italian and Jamaica is Colombian. Makes sense...
Don't forget about Poland being Dutch.

Therefore slightly more like a rainbow than the rainbow jersey.

I wish the UCI would be more honest and describe it as the "as near as we could get to the olympic rings without being sued" jersey: if they wanted it to look like a rainbow, they could do easily.

I don't know how cool it is to have a name that sounds like semen.

It's cool when Chiara Consonni and Clara Copponi finish next to each other.

It's a shame Kool wasn't there as well, then I could have written "It's Kool when Chiara Consonni and Clara Copponi finish next to each other.

It's also a shame that Verhulst-Wild isn't called Gladia, cause then we would have had a top 10 with only first names ending in -a.
