Yes and everyone here is full of superlatives when in a GT a breakaway of 4 riders goes off on a flat parcours (like the WC).

Precisely what my problem with it is. Women's cycling can be really exciting and rewarding to follow. But this is one of the blue riband events, and all that it does is turn off potential fans, because the racing has been dire.

Yes, the course is utter garbage and hasn't helped. But that doesn't excuse teams who have nothing whatsoever to gain from not making Italy or the Netherlands work just happily rolling along in formation.

Many people consider that boring too and the cyclingnews threads about such stages only have a fraction of replies as hilly/mountain stages.

Yes, I really don't like the course, but in the juniors and u23 at least there were constant (and futile) attacking. Seems they have just resigned themselves to the fact that there will be a sprint in the end.

Trouble is if you're in a team of only a rider, a couple riders or whatever you cant expect them to do suicidal attacks and then inevitably get dragged back.

If you had smaller teams but evenly spread out the racing would be better for sure.
