They're all trash, IMO. They can't be trusted because it's agenda-based media with the paid advertising they get from Big Pharma. Plus the government gave 1 Billion of taxpayer's $$$ to the American media corporation to promote the vaccines & fight against vaccine hesitancy. It's wasn't like they were advocating "informed consent" & emphasizing freedom of choice. Lol.Fake news quaks full of crap. Headline says "As the US records 1 million Covid deaths, experts note underinvestment in long-term care, primary care and public health all contributed to the toll "
Nope the CDC says this 997,468
cheering on death is another horrible look on the median. The guardian is a trash outlet. No facts.

Say what? "They" all trash?Lol...."They're all trash, IMO. They can't be trusted..."
Simpler when it's just "they", I guess.
I'm not sure what the "they" is, but that is a mechanism to discount facts that people don't like. I've said it several times in this thread, the people who don't understand post: "oh its just oldermash...", when in fact it isn't oldermash, its oldermash posting scientific consensus. Its easier for them to point at oldermash.Lol...."They're all trash, IMO. They can't be trusted..."

This might be the funniest post in this whole forum. "It's not 1 million, it's 997,468", holy crap.Fake news quaks full of crap. Headline says "As the US records 1 million Covid deaths, experts note underinvestment in long-term care, primary care and public health all contributed to the toll "

You can't just make up your own numbers. That is why we are so polarized at this point. Anywhere AUS or USA. wtf sad
Silliness indeed! This might be the funniest post in this whole forum. "It's not 1 million, it's 997,468", holy crap.
Hopefully no one is celebrating any number other than meaningful decline in infections. Damned statistics.Silliness huh?!
Worldometer has the USA at 1,029,337
Every news outlet has reported the "milestone' of 1,000,000+
997,486 is so much better though.
How accurate the numbers are is anyone's guess. Australia and the UK altered their numbers upwards and the WHO believe that India and Russia under reported by a lot. North Korea said they had 6 infections, the next day they had a million.................Hopefully no one is celebrating any number other than meaningful decline in infections. Damned statistics.

IMO, the number to celebrate the most is less deaths.Hopefully no one is celebrating any number other than meaningful decline in infections. Damned statistics.
It seems like Omicron is continuing to mutate although I haven't heard of a new mutation for quite a while now.Itis like Hong Kong dropped from 15,000 cases a day to averaging 300 cases a day ( has been the same for 2 weeks ) in the space of six weeks, which is completely different to any other country - Of course we know these are rubbery figures because no one in HK is reporting positive tests.
The more important issue moving forward is to produce an Omicron VACCINE in which it's express purpose is to reduce the transmissibility of the virus - This is vital for our future.
CDC lists: 1,001,750. They were the ones who reported reaching 1 MIL. to the media.Silliness indeed?!

BA2.12.1It seems like Omicron is continuing to mutate although I haven't heard of a new mutation for quite a while now.
There will be something new in a few months. I think one stumbling point is that omicron has a strange spike that makes it a poorer immunogen. The cross protection against other strains is not as robust. But the formulation change is inevitable and I plan to get the new one for my second booster once available.Itis like Hong Kong dropped from 15,000 cases a day to averaging 300 cases a day ( has been the same for 2 weeks ) in the space of six weeks, which is completely different to any other country - Of course we know these are rubbery figures because no one in HK is reporting positive tests.

There is so much omicron immunity out there that the next variant is likely to look less like omicron. Hopefully that won't happen for at least another year.BA2.12.1
BA.3, BA4, and BA5 are out there too.
It really was amazing. This might be the funniest post in this whole forum. "It's not 1 million, it's 997,468", holy crap.
That last claim just isn't accurate. MERS has a fcs. Human coronaviruses have a fcs. These sites have arisen independently multiple times in coronaviruses and are also found in Hiv, ebola, and highly pathogenic strains of flu. The idea that it is smoking gun evidence for engineering makes sense to those who don't understand virology, or have ulterior motives.COVID-19 is also unique in having furin cleavage site (FCR) - no other coronaviruses have this feature.
UHOH! Is "Dr." Tucker being quoted again as a scientist again? That last claim just isn't accurate. MERS has a fcs. Human coronaviruses have a fcs. No matter what the economist above says, the scientific consensus is that SC2 is a natural virus that caused a zoonosis due to live animal markets in Wuhan. No engineering required.
Furin cleavage sites naturally occur in coronaviruses
The spike protein is a focused target of COVID-19, a pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2. A 12-nt insertion at S1/S2 in the spike coding sequence yields a furin cleavage site, which raised controversy views on origin of the virus. Here we analyzed the phylogenetic ...www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
From my understanding, there are researchers that have noted an unusual & unexpected FCS within the virus - the implication being that SARS-CoV-2 might be a product of lab manipulation. These researchers are calling for an independent inquiry into the origins. That last claim just isn't accurate. MERS has a fcs. Human coronaviruses have a fcs.
