You need to drop MATTHEWS to 258 as he has had a result from 2009 dropped which hasn't been included in the latest release, that will bring Moondance and Joy in under budget.

New list after Matthews point reduction:

Player 2010 Points
1. Hugo Koblet 7495
2. Moondance 7483
3. who dat 7231
4. Vonn Brinkman 7758
5. The Cobra 7471
6. hrotha 7500
7. auto de fé 7500
8. Parrulo 7473
9. pabryan 7441
10. kurtinsc 7495
11. Rocksteady 7499
12. togo95 7450
13. Barrus 7254
14. Libertine Seguros 7492
15. auscyclefan94 7207
16. Jukebox 7493
17. Contre la montre 7500
18. Bumeington 7492
19. Kvinto 7479
20. ingsve 7500
21. Moncoutie 7499
22. Ferminal 7473
23. deValtos 7491
24. nvpacchi 7470
25. roundabout 6980
26. jens_attacks 7500
27. Mellow Velo 7499
28. The Hitch 7435
29. Team Sky Fans 7485
30. Joy118118 7500
31. Jaiying 7475
32. Bicing 7498

That just leaves Von Brinkman as being WAY over budget.

A lot of people seem to be willing to help out with the whole Excel thing so thanks a lot bicing, Ferminal and kurtinsc.

There is one major issue, though, which Ferminal noted:

During the 2011 season, the sheets that CQ Ranking makes available for download shows the riders current CQ Ranking, which means that if you download the sheet in say, april 2011, the sheet will show each riders value based on his April 2010 - April 2011 results.

In some way we need to only get the points earned in the 2011 season to be able to make updates during the season.

If we need to, we can cut and paste 100 rows at a time from what displays when you search for a year. We might have to modify the lookup formulas a little if we do that, but the format for the names is the same.

That will take a bit longer as we get to the end of the season... we're looking at about 34 pages... but that should still take less then 20 minutes. Not ideal but workable.

There appears to be a "year ranking" sheet as well as the main one on the document. Wouldn't that contain the right data?

In some way we need to only get the points earned in the 2011 season to be able to make updates during the season.

The only way I can think of is to set it up so...

[1/1/2011 -> 31/1/2011] = [01/02/2010 -> 31/1/2011] - [01/02/2010 -> 31/12/2010]

That would require recording certain dates from the 2010 calendar (the CQ files seem to be updated after Sunday races once a week during the season).

Basically it's:

2011 points up to the specific date = "rolling" 12 month CQ points (which we get from the 2011 files) - CQ points in 2010 for the equivalent date after the 2011 setting, until the end of the year (which we could do by taking or end year 2010 number from specific dates on the 2010 calendar which correspond with the days we want to update the 2011 ranks))

No, that won't be a problem I think. The CQ xml file has a tab for the single year ranking as well. You just have to be careful to use the right list.

Hugo, do you want to wait until the December 31st deadline and send me the final team list, or do you want me to go ahead and send the file now?

There's a bit of manual stuff when you add a team (excel doesn't like doing a lookup of a calculated field... so I have to hardcode the references to get the team totals onto the summary sheet). But once the teams are finalized, all that is required to update is to copy the correct sheet from the CQ download to the 2011 results sheet... and everything should just update after that.

Send me a PM with an e-mail when you want it.

Okay, I've got the teams that Ferminal edited and posted in the thread loaded in the database, as well as those that posted their teams in a "CQ cut and paste friendly format".

I actually prefer not to have the point numbers... I have to go through and remove them first. But it's not a huge deal.

Here are a list of th teams I have and what I have their point totals at based on the file downloaded from CQ. THe only change I made to the CQ points was to add di luca at 113 points (he was showing at 0 before), everything else is straight from the CQ file. Give me a heads up if last year's points were agreed to be different for another rider.

Dude I already made the spreadsheet, and you don't need to go and remove any numbers. And you don't need to do any manual entry with the CQ rankings. Its easier to just use mine.

Cheers

Very similar to mine.

The "manual" part I referred to was when adding a new team, you have to add the reference to the team total in column C of the results sheet and copy the formulas when creating a new team.

I didn't think about using string functions to chop the points off though... that probably would have been faster then manually chopping off the number. I do like having clean data though.

You've got to add di luca to the bottom of the results list as well.

Very little difference between the two.

OK so you already did it?? Must have missed that in the forum.

Adding diluca will happen automatically when he gets results, he is zero because the actual points he scored in 2010 was zero. i was trying to make it easy as possible to update teams and update results as time goes on

We were told Di luca was worth a lot more than that:confused:

The last I heard was in post #86 on page 9 of the thread:

Franco Pellizotti: 60 CQ Dollars
Michael Rasmussen: 38
Davide Rebellin: 775
Danilo di Luca: 113

I didn't add Rebellin as nobody has selected him I think... and the numbers for Rasmussen and Pellizotti are in the table correct anyway.

Yeah... I have a seperate 2010 and 2011 sheet for looking up... thought it would be fun to track the change in points for riders from last year to this year. Was also using 2010 to verify people were under the point limit.
