Given that there are only 6 other riders with more than 244 points I wouldn't think so. He's been the buy of the season so far, but it is very early days. I'm guessing someone will score 600 - 800 points more as the maximum gain in one year.

Good on Sky, those Aussie riders making the Brits team look good have kept me in front for one more update.

Thats a bit harsh on Ben Swift, Flecha, Cummings, Boasson Hagen. The Aussie riders are doing well for the team though no question.

Add another sheet labeled "prior week".

When loading a new file, put the one in the 2011 sheet in the "prior week" sheet prior to loading the new one in.

Replicate the formulas referencing the 2011 sheet in a new columnt referencing the "prior week" sheet.

Reference that total from each team when populating the "previous ranking" column on the overall ranking sheet.

You end up with something like this:

One thing I learned watching this past weeks races.
Some of my bigger spends, who I thought would be contending races,
appear to have been consigned to 3rd string domestique duties.
Hence, I expect to continue my less than graceful, gradual slide into the bottom half of the league table and obscurity.

Thanks for those folks providing the various stats. They are interesting, if more than a little depressing.

I've actually given up on this game, since Ricco got busted. No chance to win. My other riders are going alright, that's true.

Well I'm planning on having, at least in my own head, a competition for the 42 people who picked Ricco - my goal is to top that list, I'll have a bit of pride at least.

The game is never over if you can invent subcategories for yourself to win...

Edit: Also, holy crap, despite having what I thought to be a terrible week I still only dropped 5 places. I had nobody show in the weekend races, my highest scorer in the 1-day races was Cunego with 8 (barely edging out my other scorer, Ciolek, with 5). One more week of rest and then I think it'll take off, from the start list I already have 11 riders in Paris-Nice, with possibly a similar number in T-A... lots and lots of possibility, at least better than having only Boonen, Ciolek, Gusev and Betancourt in the cobbled races this weekend... and when Ballan and Haussler get in the mix in the bigger northern races, it should be nice.

This is the key on why I risked picking him.

Even if it drags on, if he just gets cleared at the end of the year and rides the last 2 months, he'd have a solid chance to surpass 60 points. The potential was there for much more if he got to ride a full season.

Pellizotti probably won't be a deciding factor though, as almost every single team has him. So it doesn't really matter [that much] if he scores 0 or 1000.

Well, it matters to me since he was one of my morality eliminations. I certainly hopes he doesn't race for very long. If he doesn't race then thats' a slight advantage I have over almost everyone.
