given his bowling has been good, chance for Lyon to cement his place on the team for a while if he survives here
I think he already has. Good bowler and he's fought with the bat a lot of the time.

That's it NZ win. Bad work from Warner. No they don't win, still bad work from Warner to give Lyon so much of the strike.

Lyon boundary, he was out in my opinion and hawk eye got it wrong, I believe. A single as well, he surely spiked his drink.

What a match. Deserved victory for NZ, great effort from Warner and Lyon. Pattinson and Siddle with the ball were also brilliant.

How good is Bracewell, brilliant second test and unlucky in the first. Australia typically collapse against a swinging ball, 7/40.

Zimbabwe aren't all that bad after this match;)

Guptil, Williamson, Boult, Bracewell, and Southee weren't even born when New Zealand last won a Test in Australia.

Warner man of the match? What crap, has to be Dougie Bracewell.
The first session on each day of the test was most conducive for bowling-6 wickets fell in day one's first session, 6 in the second day's first session, 7 and 5 wickets in the first session of the final two days.

The viewers vote on it.
Heard that in the last match but even taking into consideration the stupidity of the system, it's just crazy to overlook such a brilliant performance by Bracewell. 27% to 58% for Warner, not a good system. 'Skull' O'Keefe not happy with the system. CA have to change it, unnecessary commercialisation.

Ross Taylor apologising for the poor performance in the First test.

Gutsy effort by the Kiwis. Considering that they were badly defeated in Brisbane and were on the brink of defeat today and to then come back and win the test took a great effort.

I am embarrassed to say this but I almost felt happy to see the Australians lose. Sadly there are quite a few players I have a storng dislike for.

In Brisbane the Black Caps couldn't catch a cold, whereas in Hobart they caught everything that came their way, including the tough half chances, that's what got them over the line.

Agreed.

More from Ross Taylor-
Bracewell was poor in Brisbane and this spell is one of the most memorable.

Brisbane was poor? They're certainly expecting huge things from him.

If I was fielding in close to Michael Clarke I would be asking all sorts of questions about his relationship with Lara Bingle, the sort that are forbidden from this forum.

You fit the demographic of the English cricket team:D

On a serious note, I have no problems with naturalised citizens playing for any country.

if i was fielding in close i would probably be discussing the rest of Australia's relationship with Lara Bingle.

not very long after breaking up with her he was hitting on my wife and her friend in Ivy, so obviously not that cut up about it.

before you ask, he was not successful.

Good match in the end...hopefully more pitches like this in the future. I am bloody sick of complete road pitches.

On the first DRS decision (the one that was given out then overturned) if the match had ended right there and then without the use of DRS i don't think anyone could/would have complained. It was a decision which i don't think any team thought was bad and Aus only challenged because they could.

Good knock by Warner though. If Watson is fit for boxing day, Hughes definitely has to be the one to go

I have the right nationalities for the England team, but unfortunately only the skills to make the Australian one.

I have to say I do rate Nathan Lyon as a spinner and a pesky number 11, and TBH I think in time he can move up a bit and even come in as nightw-atchman as he has a solid defence and is a million miles ahead of Chris Martin. I like the fact that Lyon isn't afraid to toss the ball up, and it will be interesting to see if he will still do that against the Indians as Sehwag has belted many a world class spinner back over his head for six. The other good thing about him is that he is able to wrap up the tail quickly, which for mine is an under-rated skill, and I also like the fact that Michael Clarke has a lot of confidence in him as a bowler.

After going through Hogg, MacGill, Casson, White (how he ever played Tests is beyond me), Krejza, Hauritz, McGain, Smith, Doherty, and Beer, Australia might finally have a winner.
