Oh, imagine the irony now if ****stan wins because SA declared too early. Speaking about payments etc, not many years until Amir comes in and replaces Gul.

Soon the T20s begin between NZ and England, why do they even play T20s at tours? It should be only tests and ODIs.

And ODI's should be limited to preserve them.

2 whole days to chase down 300 more runs on a batsman's pitch with the most patient batsman in the world at the crease; they've got a 10% chance here, which in itself is incredible considering they're chasing down nearly 500. I guess if Steyn has a bad day then anything's possible.

And yeah, South Africa declared way too early. I'd have batted on through the rest of day 3 and set a total of 6-700; completely demoralising Pak-istani players hopefully all the way through the series.

Pak-istan have just got to not get out. Just keep batting and batting and batting. If they do that they win.
However not getting out is going to be the tough part.
SA should have batted on but they probably will win the match by 150 runs plus with over a day to spare.

Misbah?

I thought it was Kallis.

Kallis has a higher strike rate, which I equate with risk taking. :p

Misbah has just hit a 4, taking his strike rate for this innings to a whirlwind 34 :D. Basically what Pak-istan need now is for him to channel Hanif Mohammad and hit a 1000 minute long epic triple century. Cricinfo tells me it's been a mindboggling 6 years since the last time Misbah was bowled in a test match, so he certainly has the technique to do it.

That should, sadly, be that. Asad Shafiq just dismissed by Steyn, and there aren't any recognised batsmen left in the order.

Oh yes. Ajmal you legend.

Give it up now, Graam, you're on your way to a 300 run defeat, with a 17 wicket haul from Ajmal.

On the flipside, watching Pak-istan play is a bit annoying, because they have had for as long as I can remember a steady succession of 'keepers saying 'Well bowled, well bowled *insert name of spinner* bhai, shabash shabash!' EVERY ball.

Then again, I grew up with the dulcet tones of 'Bowled, Shane!' for a decade so I probably shouldn't complain about wicketkeepers being stupid.

Amla will win this for SA, especially now when pak-istan lets Ahmed bowl instead of spinners from both ends.

Pak-istan threw that away.

Anyway, India-Australia is starting in about 5 minutes. Australia will bat first on a dry, spinning pitch in Chennai. India have rather inexplicably dropped their best spinner/bowler in general, Ojha, to bring in another medium pace trundler. Australia have also made their own bizarre selection, Moises Henriques, who is barely an international standard player at T20 level, let alone test cricket.

Superb innings from Clarke. This pitch is a proper dustbowl and he's looked so comfortable throughout, vital knock. I quite like our plan of getting to 3/120 instead of 3/40, this way Clarke doesn't have to score a double hundred all the time for our total to be competitive.

Still lots of work though. We probably need another 100-150 runs. A sub-400 first innings total in the subcontinent is asking for trouble, especially when you've only got one specialist spinner and his name happens to be Nathan Lyon.

Clarke must be really happy that Dharmasena is blind. If he could see/DRS was used Australia would probably have been bowled out for under 200. The dropping of Ohja is really weird and Waterloo is on to something here about the ashes this summer.

Really bad showing from NZ against England, without Ryder and Guptill their batting lineup is extremly weak.

Good to hear.

It warms my heart everytime India gets a **** decision and can't overturn it due to their own luddite arrogance. Especially after the number of rank poor decisions from local umpires against Cook in the 1 days which had to stand unchallenged.

Selectors should have some clue about what they are doing.

They should be able to select something like the best team from the players available instead of picking the bunch of no hopes they are picking.

If your lot can't bat against Ashwin you're going to have a world of fun at Old Trafford with Swann & Panesar.

Just spotted this pattinson lad is brother of the useless Darren who played a match or 2 for England.

Darren pattison was one of the worse selection decisions in memory.

When Tendulker quits they'll go down the DRS route. He's been impossible to get out LBW for the last few years.

I think the Australia selectors are trying to ruin the Australian test team, absolutely no idea.

lol, Lyon out for Maxwell, that's like begging for another loss in these conditions.

It was more Lyon out for Doherty but still a stupid decision. Maxwell is simply not a test match quality cricketer. Despite his first up performance with the bat I do not think Henriques is either.
