As much as I wanted him out, kind of a shame he missed out by 2 runs.

Cruel end but he got out going for his shots, he did not look too worried unlike his family and team mates..........oh well the test is in the balance and that partnership has to give the Aussies a boost.

All of a sudden it has got pretty quiet in here :D

I'm sorry but it is not looking that good for Australia, if KP and Cook survive the first hour today you're doomed.

anyone saw yest's performance by Dhoni? I switched channel when the 9th wicket fell.

It seems yest was the day for the no 11, except for the 11 in TdF.

You think so? Brave call :)

Well, not so sure anymore. As long as Cook and KP are there, then they can get to around 400. But if one of them falls early on then I can see that brittle English middle/lower order crumbling. Bell is inconsistent and often gives it away once he's set (basically a better English version of Hughes), Bairstow strikes me as the outstanding weak link in England's team, Prior is a bit hit-and-miss, and then you're into the bowlers.

This is very impressive from Cook and KP. They've really learned their lessons from their subcontinental tours last year (thrashed in Paklstan, drew in Sri Lanka, beat India) and now have the knowledge on how to bat on abrasive, flat surfaces like these. Too often batsmen, when they play on Asian style wickets, get excited at the low bounce and try rash shots, but they forget that even though it doesn't bounce steeply, there's still plenty for the bowlers to create chances. These two have been very sensible and waited for the bad balls to score off.

Edit: Looks like I've jinxed Pietersen :D. He's chopped on.

No, no stick to your guns it's funny seeing Poms so unrealistic, especially about certain lb decisions...anyway good to see Agar leave a lasting impression on the Poms.

Seriously get over the Rogers decision. He was unlucky, but it wasn't a bad decision. You're making the rest of us Aussies look bad.

You'll notice nobody had a meltdown on here over Trotts lbw like you did over Rogers one :p

I was about to take that rather seriously until I saw the tongue ;)

I'll just put that down to naivety on your part :)

I think you've misunderstood. Look at my location. Michael Clarke went to the same primary school as I did. I'm as Australian as Merv Hughes!

The English are looking shaky. So much for the 10-0 Test series result for England that people like Botham predicted over both series.

It's hard to call a series result. England were not too impressive against South Africa or NZ but we were useless in India. But India is always about the conditions and the pitches. I think both series will be close even though the England line up is more settled and experienced. The rivalry between both teams narrows the gap.

Since both countries did **** in India and the conditions that the England curators will arguably throw up will be similar to Indian conditions, it should be pretty even I would say. Only difference - well big difference is the quality of your spinner and as a whole, you're probably better off by one batsmen.

So you did - I was misinformed ;)

Legitimises how the pitches over in England are being prepared then - what was it? For 8 days before the test the pitch wasn't watered...

Botham is a clown. Hardly anything he says is worth listening to.

My series prediction over the 10 matches is 6-2 or 6-3 to England.

Prior out - And remember there is a greater chance that Australia will win more games in Australia than in England. So as we go along in this series, keep that in mind :)
