Pointless discussion, but still no reason to try and cite an outlier as the best piece of evidence available. He has needed to do his best in lots of time trials, and very few have been that good.

Sure, but when one is arguing that Sanchez isn't going to lose 3 min to Wiggins, you cite the TT where he beat Evans, not the one where he lost 90 seconds to him.

Or the one he won this year in his previous goal this season.

This is the one you want to look at, where he really needed the time:

Look, i remember all his TTs since he became a contender, including wins on flat TTs, no need to throw links at me now. He is my favorite rider after all.

He is a good TTer, especially in late stages of tours when recovery kicks in more then pure power, but there is too much TTing in this year's tour for him to do better then 5th place in the end. You always gotta count on him missing some split on insignificant stages where it takes a strong rouleur teammates to establish position, lose like 1:30 there, lose 3 in the tts, climb with the best and there you are, 4 mins down at 5thish place in the end.

Yeah season m over for Samu, unless he can win worlds and i can't see him winning worlds. and turning 35 next year, well this could be a quiet end to a career right here.

Fair enough. All moot anyway, and yesterday didn't exactly suggest he was flying before the crash.

Wiggins sprint victory nailed on today then?

He always takes Dauphine easy and hits Tour in top form, so his performance yesterday is completely irrelevant.

That's a bit sexist for a internet forum with both male and female readers, no?

He would have lost 3 - 4 mins on Wiggins in TTs, and thats a lot of time to make up on few selective stages there are.

Let's not give Wiggins the jersey yet. Sanchez: a) is one of the better TTists of the legit GC riders b) is a better climber and descender than Wiggins which you probably agree and c) has a better record at the Tour.

Wiggins still has to confirm his potential in the Tour. People are jumping the gun. Gives me the chance to smugly point it out though =)

Nope, just an insult. To be honest, in modern day life I can't imagine anyway being offended terribly at this. I laughed a little :p
