"FDJ-BigMat team manager Marc Madiot witnessed Pierrick Fedrigo’s return to the peloton. "He hurt his kneecap", Madiot told letour.fr. "He called the race doctor to ease his pain." The situation seems more complicated for Samuel Sanchez who is located 6.45 behind the bunch."

Ouch..

Seemed like a pretty bad crash, because fedrigo got back while sanchez is suffering. the ticker also mentioned he was in pain.
Bad start for his tour preparation.

Thanks. I mistakenly thought it was a great start.

Think you can if the race organizers of both races don't object to it. At least that's what I thought the rules were.

This was my understand, hence why Cav could ride the Tour of Britain after missing the time cut at the Vuelta.

I think so. I think a lot of people are overrating how hard that final climb is, although of course it all depends how hard they race over it.

I'd pick Degankolb.

Lol, EBH is already working at the front. If he's not even allowed to ride for himself on stages like this then he might as well retire already...

It's not often you see the bookmakers favorite for a stage working on the flat with 80 k to go

"News about Samuel Sanchez... not good
The medical department of ASO informed letour.fr of the state of Euskaltel’s Samuel Sanchez who is struggling more than six minutes behind the peloton: suspicion of broken ribs. "He’ll be taken directly to hospital for X-rays after the end of the stage, shall he be able to finish, but he looks like suffering quite a lot", the doctor said."

Let's hope it's nothing serious.

As much as it sucks when your favorite rider crashes, this could be a blessing in disguise.

Instead of Tour that doesnt suit him, and Olympics road race that suits him even less he could go for Vuelta (just maybe even challenge Alberto if this break has left an effect on him which i doubt) and then WCRR.

That's worse than Henao working at the Giro flat stages IMO
